Hi everybody!
I haven't posted in forever and tonight I was going back and reading old posts. An overwhelming sense of gratitude for this board came over me.
The love ,compassion and understanding that people have shown and continue to show ....the wonderful words of wisdom...the kindness and generosity of spirit is just beautiful.
Life has been good.....lots going on....some good ....some not so good ...but that is ok. I'm active in AA and getting more active in Al-anon (which has been invaluable). And I believe more than ever that as long as we keep doing what we need to do on a daily basis that it will be ok. I will be alright even if things around me are swirling. I do not have to swirl with it.
I am so grateful to all of you ...you are so near and dear to me. We are all in the big family of recovery. Even if we are all in different cars, we are all heading down the same big highway.
Everybody have a peaceful and sober holiday ....I wish a No-Drama holiday season for you all!!
love,
Carolyn

Avondale Girl! Wow, this is a wonderful blast from the past! Welcome back! So glad to "hear" you're doing well. We don't see enough of the folks who are success stories as they grow in their individual programs. Will you stick around for a bit? Share some ESH?
Hi Carolyn,
Well your post just made my day! I love what you said we are all just one big family of recovery. And how you appreciate us alcoholics showing love, compassion, encouragement, nonjudgement, gratitude and the hope we share with each other. What a blessing for you to say that!
Alcohol is the kind of drug that just makes you want to give up and die after all it is a depressant drug. It's like being part of the living dead. So when you find your way out your just so thankful and remember the suffering you never want to hurt another alcoholic. You just want to help them find there way back to the living before it's to late.
Your growth in your recovery shows in by what you said. Even when things are swirling around us. We don't have to swirl with it! I havn't been sober that long and I'm working on that. I'm glad I know it can be done. I to hope you will come back and share some of your ESH with us. I love it " No Drama "
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays To You Carolyn
