Hi all my friends! Just wanted to mention this great book I just started reading, don't know if anyone's heard of it but you should take a look - it's called "Drinking - A Love Story", autobiographical, by a woman named Caroline Knapp. I'm only about 30 pages in but good lord, if I didn't know I was an alcoholic before I sure do now... just about everything she has to say rings so true and sounds sooo frighteningly familiar. I can't wait to get home so I can read more....

Oh My God, I picked this book up about 8 years ago, and couldn't put it down!! I didn't think in a million years anyone would have read it!!! too weird!! it is a fantastic book, I couldn't put it down either!! you will relate to it CB I know I sure did!! I have actually re-read it as well, it's definetely a keeper!!!

Hi Diane, yep, the person who recommended the book to me just told me that today, when I mentioned that it'd be great to be able to thank the author for writing it... she was just in her early 40s I think... such a shame... but at least she was sober at the end, I bet she was glad for that.
Liz how funny that you read it all that time ago! I'm definitely identifying with it already, I'm sure that will only continue... I think it's one I'll end up rereading more than once!

Ironically enough, I picked that book up a few months before I stopped drinking!
I got half way thorough it and finshed the rest of it a few months after I got sober.
I love how she talks about the "Uh-Ohs"...that was my life!!!
It has such insight to female alcoholics. VW...it is a definite must read!!
