Fat Tuesday, the official last day of Mardi Gras is on February 20th. Wednesday, the 21st is Ash Wednesday.
Between now and then, parades, parades, parades, king cakes and beads. This afternoon its hot boiled crawfish and ice cold coca cola. LOTS OF PAPER TOWEL.
I am looking forward to wearing false eye lashes and boas in my hair...glitter on my cheeks and screaming: "Throw Me Something Mister". (although to tell the truth, the marching bands are my favorite thing in the parade)!

Galveston has some decent parades.I don't quite know how I would feel being traped on the island with a bunch of drunks but it could be fun.
Sarah you are so lucky! I love love love New Orleans! I spent 10 days there the New Years before Katrina. I fell in love with that City...the Benoit's...and chicory coffee....the people, the food and color on the Streets!
Thank you for reminding me...my heart is broken from all the destruction that storm caused, but its good to know that its healing! Good for New Orleans and its peeps! Have fun and take loads of pictures please!
