well everyone it is now 16 min past the new year here in Illinois, my first new year sober in years!
it certainly feels different so wanted to share how i am feeling.
it was difficult in the past to always see the happy people on tv kissing their lover, husband because that is how i always want to spend a new year. just loving the people that i care about. this year it was difficult to watch all the people celebrating and drinking champagne, so i turned off the tv and came to post how i feel.
i always have asti spumante once a year on new years eve and i was told by my therapist and former sponsor NO! it could put me back into active addiction so i did what i am told. i have been craving lately and that scares me.
i am blessed that my 2 sons did come out of their bedrooms to watch the countdown with me and they are here with me safe, my husband is at the bar as usual, i always pray that he wont kill himself or someone else because he continues to drive drunk despite previous dui's.
i am surrounded at the computer with my beautiful animal family and that is a blessing too, my german shephard loves to lay under the desk on my feet, that is where she is now.
this morning was my turn to read scripture and the prayers of the church. i volunteered to be a lector, the readings were from 1 samuel and colossians.
be kind to one another seek, humilty, kindness and frogiveness to one another as Christ has forgiven you.
so, happy new year everyone, i hope and pray 2007 is a good year for all of us. jewels/k-9

Happy New Year thumper , jewls and everyone. I just got home from going out with my sister and her husband. I had lots of fun and I was SOBER.

thanks joy for your prayer, my husband did make it home, he's passed out on the couch now and the room smells like alcohol everytime i walk in here.
i am up late too cuz i took a couple of naps today after church... this sub/ klonopin combo that i am tapering off of makes me so sleepy.
i did do dishes,swept kitchen and folded some towels and now i need to get my butt back to bed so i dont sleep the whole day away tomorrow.
all the decorations need to get put away and that will take days with everything i have.
did get a few things 50 percent off for next year.
we do like to keep everything up until epihany, jan 6th.thats when the wisemen arrived to see the baby Jesus.
hace you guys seen these cute yard decorations for Christmas? they are inflatable snowmen and santas that have a fan inside of them? they blow up when you turn them on and then they deflate when you turn them off.
i saw a new one this year in peoples yards, it is a reindeer pulling santa out of the chimney cuz santa is "stuck" the reindeer keeps pulling santa up and then santa falls back in the chimney and the reindeer helps him up, it so cute, and i wanted one and couldn't pay 60 dollars for it at wal mart when i saw it there before Christmas, so after Christmas i saw it 1/2 price for 30 dollars and i still didn't have the money to get it, my son works at wal-mart and he saw it a few days later reduced to 14 dollars! Yeah! I have one now! he picked it up for me.
we tried it inside the house, it is 6 ft tall! i also have the white reindeers and sleigh outside that light up and the whole nativity scene.
i have a funny story to tell, a few Christmases past, i heard some noise in my front yard one night and there was a car parked in front of my house with like 3 people in it and they were stealing my nativity!!!! i opened the front door to see them pull away real fast and in their hurry to escape, the 3 wisemen were rolling down the street, i caught them just as they were trying to put the 3 wisemen in their car, the only piece they had managed to steal was MARY!
i was so upset, how can i have a complete manger scene without mary, you cant just go out and buy a mary by herself.
so i called the police and they put an all points bulletin out for mary and the thieves. they never caught the guys. BUT a few hours later i get a knock on the door and its a policeman with my mary!!!! i was so thrilled!!! mary you've come back to me i exclaimed!!! she was found lying in a ditch over on indian trail where i live. i love that story how nice that policeman was and how he looked for mary and found her.
people are so mean to bother peoples decorations, especially Christian ones, my mom used to have problems with people every year coming into her yard and cutting all her cords to her decorations and she has a lot of outdoor ones, her home looks so pretty at Christmas.someone had to be jealous to keep doing that every year.
i cant wait until everything is 75 percent off! thats almost free!
