Have I Got A Problem?

I drink socially. However the next day I have severe severe hangovers. My body just rejects anything new i put in my mouth - teaspoon of rice even or sip of water. My head feels like its crushing. I've had projectile vomit in the most inappropriate places.

Thing is, I'm allergic to a lot of things, and am on 2 medications that I shouldn't drink on including antidepressants and a tablet which involves regular liver tests cos it can be bad for the liver.

Its like my body sees alcohol as toxic waste.

Sometimes the next day I throw up black stuff. Dry blood?

Would one say I have a problem here, or is it normal.

I know i shouldn't drink on these medications but its difficult not to in certain social situations.
it sounds like to me that you should absolutely not be drinking!! The meds you are on might be contributing to your symptoms. if you feel like you have a drinking problem then you probably do. you said that your body treats alcohol like toxic waste. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. it is trying to tell you something.you might want to go to some aa meetings, there you will be able to listen to recovering alcoholics and make a more informed decision. god bless you andmay he give you the insight you are looking for.
Hi, It sounds to me like you want someone to tell you that you have a problem with alcohol and you must stop drinking. From what you've written, you clearly seem to have a bad reaction to alcohol and your body can not handle the amounts you drink. I think you need to trust yourself and you'll make the right decision and will stop drinking even socially.
DID YA EVER HEAR THE ONE ABOUT THE GUY WHO GOES TO THE DOCTOR AND SAID "DOC MY ARM HURTS WHEN I HOLD IT THIS WAY...WHAT SHOULD I DO ?" AND THE DOCTOR SIMPLY REPLIES "WELL THAN DON'T HOLD IT THAT WAY AND IT WON'T HURT!"
The same thing with your situation....if you get violently ill when you drink on antidepressants...then don't drink....and if you read the fine print on the medicine bottle it will tell you that drinking alcohol is contraindicated....
Oh yeah when i was actively drinking before i got into recovery over seventeen years ago i was on antidepressants as well and alcohol reduces the efficacy of the drug so i was still depressed and wound up almost dying from purposely overdosing on my antidepressants while drinking as well.....did i tell you that my alcoholic brother took his life when he was only 29....jumped to his death....maybe if he had been on antidepressants without the booze he would have wanted to live....tomorrow would have been his birthday....
Am i making any sense here ? MARY
