Beautiful work and design, you do a really good job. Are the designs Celtic (think thats how you spell it) and is the writing Celtic?

To bring artwork into the open from the mind is such a beautiful gift when it is done with love and gratitude:)

light and love Zac
Hi Zac,

Yeah, most of the designs are celtic style stuff. I love all that as it is mad and really intricate. The middle one - the blue one is Chi Ro, representing the birth of christ. The writing underneath is Greek, and is the beginning of St Matthews gospel. Here he is starting to write it ... this is the bottom half of the window.

Dear Lacey,

Thankyou so much for sharing your beautiful art with us. You are so incredibly talented and gifted Lacey. I especially love the cross piece the bird looks as though it's part of the sky ready to land and rest on the cross. I was wondering what the writing means and what language it is on the second piece? And is the first inlaid in part of a window? I love how the light reflects thru the designs!

Do you sell your art at a gallery? Did you do these pieces during the last two yrs. while you were sober? They say art is very helpful and therapeutic in recovery. I wished I had some artistic ability. As I beleive it can help people to heal and recover from the pain of addiction and the pain of traumatic experiences in life.

I guess when I think about it I do have some artistic value. I like to garden outside and I have 25 or so house plants. And I'm a pretty good cook. I enjoy doing hair. Does this count? I tried to take up knitting & sewing what a mess I made. Please do laugh, but not at me. I saved a couple of the girls color bks. so in case any little kids come over I would have something to entertain them. I recently have had the urge to color in them. Perhaps theirs an artist hiding in me trying to get out. LOL

Lacey, You are such an inspiration to me! I love your stained glass art it's beautiful intricate work. I see you growing in the future. Websites, galleries, new customers. With your continued sobriety your possibilities are endless!

Love, Chris
Hi Lacey,

I was just sending my post and what a surprise as it was going thru your glorius piece was coming thru. Now I must go back and let my eyes and spirit absorb it's beauty.

Thankyou, Lacey
Hello Chris,

That is rather good that our posts completely crossed paths there!!
I am glad you enjoyed looking at my stuff. You probably saw in the post to Zac about the greek lettering and the symbol called chi ro, of which the letters are XPI. I copied the basic outline from an ancient manuscript and made up the rest.
The celtic cross is a window in its own right. My dad had a commission to re glaze a whole church - fourteen windows in all. He gave me the celtic one to do, and the chi ro window is part of the fourteen as well which I also ended up doing. We only fixed them all in the church last week, so yes this is very recent work. I thank my dad for giving me the opportunity to use my skills. In fact I thank him from the bottom of my heart because stained glass is what saved my life. Without it I would have sunk alot further into the pit of addiction, possibly into heroin. I did try it and I did have a crack habit for a few months. It was my dad keeping the door to stained glass open and being so so patient with me when I was drinking, being completely irresponsible, being a total let down, and a liar, that has enabled me to do all this now. I class myself as very very lucky.

I don't sell any stuff in galleries or have a website. Again I am blessed with having Dad as my dad!! I know everyone in the trade and have work turn up pretty easily.

Chris, when I first went to the hairdressers a year or two ago - a first because I didn't care at all about my hair before at all, I didn't wash it for years and had a couple of dreadlocks. Anyway, I said to the hairdresser, 'you are an artist aren't you?'. I think to cut hair is definatley an art, so therefore you are creative!! I think you are artistic because you have always been interested in my art, and you wouldn't be if you didn't appreciate such things.

Well, I am pleased to say the paintbrush came out again tonight!! I had real fun with the paints and churned out four pieces. Again, colourful tripped out druggy looking stuff, but I don't care, I am painting that is what matters. When I was a kid I used to do one painting after the other after the other. To do four tonight was pretty good!! That is six paintings and two pencil drawings in the last couple of weeks - fantastic!!
The glass painting is different really because that is my job. The full on creating random pieces from nothing is what I am bringing back to life in myself. It was brilliant tonight actually, my hands became the paint brush at one point, I felt freedom and wow it was good!!

Well, I think I have gone on long enough now! Thank you for your appreciation, I do believe it inspired me to create again tonight!!

The principle for me for recovery is to get out and sort out what is in my head good or bad and the past is as much of who i am as will be the future, if your paintings or sketches resemble a part of your past then good because you are expressing them and getting them out into the open where you can see them in light and explore the many multi levelled meanings that pictures have and make sure you diary all your pictures and have a meaning written in case some one wants to buy them and know there essence.
Do you write poetry? because you could incorporate that with a bit of glass to add a bit of flavour and it is also mighty for healing the mind.
Being an empath and feeling emotion so easily and wearing it too long sometimes especially other peoples it is so important to have an outlet to express these emotions past and present and every day i am working on new ways to do this as i learn more in recovery.
Thanks again for the miracles you create with you E.S.H and your hands

light and love Zac
Ooo thanks Zac, that is really great advice and insight.

Yes, poetry and words are another interest I have. I will try some and see what comes out! Hadn't thought of that. Do you write poetry or anything?

I've just bought some new paints, brushes and paper. It is so exciting!!

Gidday Lacey

I write life poetry at times when i answer posts as i see the poetry in people and how great they are.
I see the gift cards with little nice sayings and poems and i know i could do that easy but fear stops me...at the moment and i will one day write a book or do some poetry and the healing will be a bit more complete.

Thanks again Lacey for your E.S.H and have a great day:)

There once was a girl from Limerick
Who's bite, they say, just a gimmick.
Then one day she got drunk,
Gnawed off a hunk,
Now she's known in the town as "shark chick."

How's that?

Calculate Your Days of Sobriety

LMAO LOL and thankyou Skg what a good way to go out and have a giggle when i think of your poem, hope Lacey likes it

light and love Zac
Ha ha skg!! I am guessing you made that up!!

Love the sobriety counter! I have been sober fifty seven million seconds!! Not that long really is it!!

Zac, you are a poet!! Wow!! Here's to your future writings, and your journey of healing!!
Well, here we go - here's me!!

My names Ester!!
Hi Ester, Its great to have a face to put with the name!

Cookster
Hi, Ester! Hey, maybe we should start a fresh "pics" thread? Is that a picture of James Dean? Is that your shepard? What're all the little candles for? What's the beaded thingy above the computer? So MANY questions! :)
Nice to see you--and you're SMILING!!
:)
Wanna tell us why?
Yes!! We should start a new picture thread because I was never able to get that one of you, so I still don't know you!!

That is indeed my shepards nose and foot!! The picture is Johnny Depp - I love him, he's beautiful. The beaded thing is a stereo speaker with smiley face stickers on. I am smiling because I am happy!! I can be happy!! I am good enough!! I can, I can, I can!! Liberating times. As for the candles, dunno wot you mean there, perhaps you mean the cross things? If so, they are cards actually of a massive window my old man made for the millenium.

Whose gonna start the picture thread then? You or me!!
buster's buddies

This my Buster. He's blind (long story). Can you see the pic? He's checking out the neighbors...
Damned!! No I can't - page cannot be displayed. I wonder if it is my computer you know. It was in hospital loads over the summer and some things still ain't right. Did you post the picture, or a link to the picture?
