my boyfriend ahs been smoking heroine for 4 months he wants to stop .went to doctors 5 month waiting list.so any ideas how we can do it he is wanting to go cold turkey please help.
Hi sweetie, that's a tough place you're in.....alot of people here have cold turkeyed and me included.....it would help if you could say abouts where you guys are.....I mean in the States or Europe.
People here are knowledgeable, and can help.....meantime just know he can definately get help.....it's not easy, and if you guys have not been through any kind of kick before it is scarry, and can be dangerous depending on different things.....was the list for detox/rehab.....there's places that give sub's or methadone.....let us know, and someone will surely be able to give you information.....hang on though......we all did it, and so can he.

we are in scotland. he cant wait for 5 months so how long will the symptoms last if he comes off it.He mentioned taking Dfs to substitute the heroine.

..The w/ds last 3-5 days..but he,ll suffer a lot of sleepless nights after that and feel a bit s***ty for a few days..i,ve never took d/fs..but i hear they,re good for the backpain..if you search about on the pain pills board..RAE has put up a thread about otc.(over the counter)..medications he can get that will help ease the w/ds..and to drink plenty of water as it flushes out the toxins quicker..but theres no easy way at the end of the day..good luck..Robbie..

I was on H for 7yrs and injected etc. For over 5 years Ive swapped between Dfs and Meth (not a good idea - meth)! Cant remember ever trying a rattle and making it thru my second day in all that time! Until lately...
Moved 40mile away to my mam and dads (home town rife with the H). The last time I took H was 5 weeks ago and meth (2year on it) was 8 days ago. Meth (I think) has a much harder withdrawal and by drinking water and taking multi vitamins I havent felt too bad. Will get on blockers in the next few days so looking forward to that.
What Im finding is the physical withdrawals are nothing compared to the mental ones. So youll have to keep an eye on his emotions.
