I don't know what I should do. I have tried every available remedy without success for my chronic daily headaches. The only thing that is giving me relief is Actiq. I take 1200 mcg 6 times daily. I would like to stop taking it but every time I try to reduce the dose, I can't toilerate the pain. I have read about Subutex but I don't know how long I would be on the Sub and I am not sure how I could control the pain while I would be taking the Sub.
esta" i have battled with headaches all my life. what is the med you are on again ? it can be a rollercoster ride. bil
Hi Esta, I like Bill also suffer headaches. I've been diagnosed with chronic cluster headaches. I've found out that narcotic treatment doesn't really help with these at all. Of course that was what I was prescribed for years. I guess that's why I'm on this board, trying (and succeeding) to get off the narcs.
I've found the triptans (imitrex or for me zomig) really help much more. I can actually function again. I'd be glad to give you anymore information I have on headaches if you'd like. I've had these since 1989. Bob

I have never had headaches but I have a good friend who has tried everything and narcs don't work the best from what she says. Actiq is another form of fentenyl delivered lollipop style correct? Did your Dr. prescribe this??
esta: yes i know what your are talking about, fentnyl lolipops, i never have tried them when i was on the patch, they use them for break thru pain i think. i have a friend who is on them i they work good for him.

Hi Everyone
Please be very carefull with actiq or the fentenyl patch. This med is to be given to cancer patients (usually terminal) because of the side effects. If you call the 800 # they will tell you that 2% of people using this have eye damage. They don,t tell you almost 100% have vission problems like double vission and blured vission that many times is perminant.
It is extremly addictive and the detox is harder than heroin, oxy or any drug out there. Be very very carefull. Dont get your friends on it. Dont let yourself get into this trap. My wife and I pray for all of you that have posted.
KK
P.S. We have been there with this drug. I can't see and my wife has duoble vision to the point she can no longer druve. Everyone in our Dr.s office either cant stop taking it and all have serious vission complications.
