th addiction doc told me i have to work on improving my memory which sucks does anyone have any ideas that would help i remember my clean time and going through wd wish i could forget that but a lot of stuff is gone any ways or things i can do to keep my brain working somewhat normally

I have a "to do" list that I have to keep around otherwise I forget what I need to have done. I also keep a Dayrunner, actually a physical calendar as well as a Palm PDA that has all of my appointments in it. Six years ago, when I was coming off of "chasing the dragon," I noticed my memory was slipping and I've always considered myself sharp. Anyway, I did stay off of drugs for a couple of years and my memory was good as new, so, it might be a temporary thing for you, also.

It came back. I think heroin f***s with your memory because I remember I couldn't remember this girl Heidi, from high school, her last name and it wouldn't come to me and she was my friend. Anyway, I know her last name now it comes to me right away and I haven't thought about her for a long time.. I just remember that I forgot a lot of stuff when I was using heroin. That instance is just one that I remember distinctly that I knew I had done some damage. I'm good now, though, lol. Trust me, the same thing happened to me it'll come back.

thanks to all of you for giving me some hope i can't even remember my wedding but that i might have blocked out lol yeah the wife is watching me type and laughing to but she thinks i fake memory loss to get out of some things well i am a man and not stupid lol
