I can tell you that nothing will work until he is ready. Alanon or another support group for family members can help you. If he has someone he looks up to, maybe that person can have some influence on your son's willingness to get help. You are not alone.
He is one off the best criket players in his age , very good hockey player, very fast runner 400M very fast. I am supporting him in all his sport activies and have asked so many people to talk to him regarding his problem he acknogledge his got a problem and he really wnats to continue with his sport and the next besting is start again. I feel so hopeless at time that why i decide to write a note
rrgarding the problem. i am very greatfull for your response and would like to thank you!!!

Talking always helps. you just have to have a safe place to talk. We are all so unique. I know with a Mom pulling for him and people who care, he can stop earlier than many of us. don't forget to take care of yourself. That is important to him too.
Hi Gypsyjo,
thanks for the advise and thanks for just beening there on the board and listening to mother that really confused at times. to be very honest with you
i was losing hope in him but the past week he pulled quiet through. I know it must be very difficult for him trying to stop but i am very greatful for the effort he
is putting in. I know there is a relasp period but it does restore the faith. The school is starting with atlatics now and he asked me to buy him a new pair of
running shoes!! He also told me that he will be staying late at school as from this week. but i will keep you inform about his progress. We are willing in
South Africa in Gauteng.

Hi Nisha
I'm also from SA and why don't you maybe try to get to an NARANON group. It's basically a support group for family & friends of addicts. It helps them better understand how an addict thinks and helps you better understand them. Most NA groups here in SA have an NARANON group on the same evening as the meeting, often in the same building. Try find out where there is one near you.
I know here in CT there are lots. There must be by u also.
Keep well,
angie
