One big thing to watch out for they will try to disguise favor request as a need or emergency. Scrutinize and think about all request no matter how small or insignificant. If they ask for a ride to store but bar they go to is near there I'd say no.
That being said it is a fine line between enabling and help which should be for all sober and daily routine task we all go through. BUT the alkie/addict must learn or should do as much as they can for themselves because spare time and money will probably wind up in a bar's cash register.
