lovedove
Hey lovedove, thanks for thinking of me. I'm here, been working my tush off all day & still no internet at home so couldn't post over the weekend. I'm doing OK, a little stressed but still pluggin along. Tonight I'm doing "pasta night" with a friend of mine, an old tradition of ours, though of course these days no wine for me! Kind of a bummer as wine goes so well with pasta but since unlike most people I'd have to drink the whole bottle instead of just one glass it's not such a great idea :( She still drinks but I asked her specifically not to get any... gave her the old "trying to cut down" bit. She seemed to get it.
How are you doing lately?? Better than you were I hope... And of course, hope your dad is feeling OK too... big hugs to both of you!

Hey hun, I sure wish I was in Colorado right now!! LOVE pasta!! I'm a total carb freak!! Sounds like a great girlfriend kinda thing to do, are you Italian? now with your sign on name, and the pasta making thing, I probably think you are..? I'm Scottish,English,Hungarian, just a whole lotta everything!! The drinking gal that I used to hang out with, her I used to get together and to the Martha thing, but always, always had to drink, by the time dinner was ready we were so hammed, we barely would eat anything, the wine would be flying everywhere, it's a good thing you have a friend that supports you. Have a wonderful time, and let me know how things turn out, what kind of pasta are you cooking? I'm getting hungry!!!
Lots of love girlfriend!!

Hi Bella.....pasta....yummmy...can I come over? LOL...Glad you are doing well! I was wondering where you had been as well. The boards have been kind of quiet and I haven't been on as much as normal as I have been busy! Have fun at your pasta night and take a huge bite of pasta and garlic bread for me. I don't eat a whole lot of carbs. I sure do miss em though. UMMMM UMMMMMM!
Take care my friend

Hi Girls! I just met with my Sponsee to continue on with Step 1...I made Linguini and Clams for us, plus a chilled artichoke with mayo/italian seasoned dip and garlic cheese toast (oh with Gatorade, my new drink of choice, I really like the Rain series...)...hope all of you gals are well and hopefully a little cooler tonight!
Hey Ladies hope all the meals were beautiful as they all sound it.

Hey everyone, pasta night was definitely yummy, we made it with olive oil, garlic & all kinds of sauteed veggies. Though VW you made me hungry again with that description, I especially love artichokes! LD yes, I am Italian as well as Irish, French & American Indian. An ethnic stew like you! My girlfriend that I do pasta nights with is from Mexico, she also makes the best tamales in the world! Val I am a total carb freak, good thing I ride my bike so much or I'd probably be a very large woman! And VW, LOL, I have a big bottle of Gatorade sitting on my desk right now...hey to you too, Zac, hope all is well in NZ!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful day/evening!

Hey thanks Zac, that's very sweet of you to say... I hope he comes along soon before I get too advanced in age! LMAO about your wife, I used to be friends with a woman who was half Irish & half Cherokee and she definitely had a temper! Is your wife American then or does she just have some in her background?
LD I reread your post, our pasta nights used to be wine-soaked as well, never less than 2 bottles and always polished off at least 1 before we ate anything. But now that I'm not drinking it seems like I can taste the food a lot better!
Val, I love garlic bread, will never forget how my mom ALWAYS burned it when we were kids... she'd go running into the kitchen and we'd hear "I burned the dam*ed garlic bread again!" LMAO!

Hi Guys, I just wanted share with you that I'm half Polish and it's said that we have Cherokee Indian in our lineage. Temper, yep when I was drinking I was a mean spirited drunk....to say the least!
OMG VWGirl.....I seriously need to go back to school. First I was pronouncing Ginge with a hard first G and pronouncing the e on the end. Sounding similar to Idgie!!! Duh!! Thank God Zac told me it was short for ginger. Then as I read your post the first time I read it as you were half Polish like furniture Polish! Jesus! I went to about 5 years of college (never graduated though, too much of a party girl) and this is how I read! I better call admissions and records at my school and tell them I want a refund!!! LOLOLLMAO!!! Oh well, laughter is the best medicine right???
Val, I'm totally like that too, I just read a post that I posted to Bob and Gina recently and said I'll "right" a post to you...I think I'm dyslexic too ~ I never got my degree...but I'm thinking about finishing it up, my Company foots the entire bill...but school, yuck!
VW...I here ya about school! Double yuck! I am just not motivated enough! I guess a more appropriate word would be lazy LOL...but I think that I like the not motivated better! haha....take care....
Bella...how are you doing this fine evening? Did your friend keep her word and not bring wine to dinner? I just re-read the post and my mouth was watering at the yummy food!

Val, you are too funny, LMAO about "Ginge" and "Polish"!! I never finished school either, thinking about going back someday. Yep, my friend kept her promise... she actually brought some nonalcoholic sparkling cider over, she loves that stuff and it was actually really tasty. The staple food in my dad's house was pasta with garlic and olive oil, the Italians call it "aglia y olio" (which just means "garlic and oil") - it's cheap and fast, and dad never had less than 8 pounds of pasta at hand at all times (as well as 20 rolls of toilet paper, the man was a TP hoarder, LOL)... how are you doing today??? It's still HOT here, I wish I had a pool! Upper 90's expected all week... better than NV's 120's though I guess! Great day to Val & everyone...
