I have just started a home detox and have never been so scared in my life, any help or advice would be welcome
Hey bovril king have you considered contacting someone from AA in your area or another person that knows and understands what you are doing and can help? Keep posting and even try an online AA meeting.Whatever is going on for you talk to someone about it.

A key worker is the person whi is assigned to who comes to your house, as i am doing a home detox, who is qualified in alcohol misuse and alcoholism and sees that all is ok, they see how you are feeling during the detox and someone you can turn to if needed, the detox i am on is for one week, so she will come here every day until the tablets that i have been given to help me come off the alcohol stop
Thanks for the answer and the picture for my mind....thats some vibratorLOL are you interested in looking up an AA meeting or contact near you as it is a really good way of being around like minded people and the meetings certainly would last longer than 5 minutes and if you got a sponsor then they are also available as well. If AA's not for you then have you got any other support people you can trust? Remember as you are shaking and baking, (goes quite well with the vibrator and pig referencesLOL), keep posting don't get caught up inside your own head alone in a negative mode as i know for me that can be dangerous.

BK ~ My last drink was on 21 November 2003 - I was in bad shape...called my sister and began detoxing at her house...I had been in and out of blackouts for several days prior...she was advised to have me taper down with some beer which I did...that's so I wouldn't seize...I also ate some candy too and then since all this happened over the weekend, got to a Doctor on Monday who prescribed Librium ~ but I had to see her on a daily basis for 8 days....she checked my vitals and doled out the librium like 8 the first day, 7 the second day, on and on until I was down to 1 pill...for me I still had the bouts of intense shaking, puking and night sweats...the insominia was the worst I thought...and of course the insanity....but little by little as I laid there on that little love seat in my sister's living room I started to feel better physically ~ thank Goodness she contacted her Friends from the Program and I got my butt to a meeting two, three, sometimes four times a day in the first few months of my sobriety. I suggest you don't try to go it alone. AA saved my life.
