Hi all
I have been "addicted" to alcohol for the past 8/10 years and now it has to stop. I have a beautiful family with a 7 year old daughter and 5 year old son eho I adore. Why then have a drank so much during their lifetime ??. I have decided that I cannot cut back and will therefore adstain completely.
Currently am extremely anxious and can feel my body craving for that can of cider !!
I will not give in to the temptation even though I know that I am in for a number of sleepless nights.
Hope this forum can give me some support.
Welcome Jack...you will find support here, as well as various ways the folks here stay away from drink, one day at a time. Best of luck to you. Keep comin' back!
Hey Jack welcome to the board. Read back through posts if you haven't been reading already there is good support here and also check out your options locally and see if any AA contacts or support as it all helps to keep the cravings at bay. We have a 5 year old girl and an 8 year old boy.

It DOES get better, the longer you stay sober the cravings and other symptoms will subside. But you need a recovery plan to understand your addiction and give you strength during weak moments.
I have been on and off sober the last 3.5 months - currently on 19 days and in the last week the cravigns have subsided, still get them but not as much. Feeling a lot more peace, generally happier with myself and the world.
keep coming back.
