Horrible Night

I'm surprised I still have power. we have 60mph winds, and a tornado touched down not even 5 min. from my apartment.

Kaylin is so sick, she hasn't peed all day and the doctor called a few minutes ago and said i'll have to take her to the emergency room if she doesn't in another two hours.

I've already had to pack her up in this weather to get her antibiotics. she won't keep a thing down and is burning up. Hubby is working til after midnight and working by himself so he can't go...

Everyone on the tv is saying do not drive, do not go anywhere, disaster areas are being set up and i hear the siren in the city going off.

Not a good night.... not a good night at all. Help. :(
Stace I pray you ^& sweet K are ok I wish I could do more
Love you

Thank you MJ. I'm down. i couldn't go see my sis and baby nephew today and it's her last night at the hospital. Looks like i may be taking kaylin to the same hospital, but this weather is insanity.

I hate this crap;.

Thanks Peace. I'm sorry we have never talked before. I enjoy reading your posts and I truly appreciate you keeping us in your thoughts.
Hope we can talk sometime soon.

Stacey
Stacy I assume you have a safe place in your house/apartment.

You stay HOME--tornados are a pucked up phenonama. You have supplies I pray. Stay home -kaylin will be fine. Just play games and be safe.

Stacey,
Can she forego the antibiotics for a bit? Maybe they are adding to her throwing up? If she HAS to take them, try mixing with small amounts of water at a time. She needs the water and in small amounts it may stay down. I would not venture out if its not an emergency. If it gets to that where you HAVE to take her maybe you would be better off calling a cab (if they are even out). Well, for now Id suggest staying put as others have said and trying small amounts of water at a time (maybe even with a little sugar so she will like the taste better).
Keep a flashlight nearby just in case.
She's only had one dose of antibotics and that was an hour ago. she also drank about 2oz. of water and has kept it down since...she's asleep on the couch, so hopefully she'll be able to eat a little something later.

Thanks ya'll.

Oh Stac. I wish I was there to help. If she pees, then keep her home, otherwise I would ask them if it's absolutly necessary for you to take her out. I would worry myself sick if you drive. Please let someone know that your leaving (if you do) and then call them when you get home.
Stacey:

Yuck, I hate this for you. My husband is flying around the country in this crap right now too....it makes me worry.

This may be a whacked out option...but if her fever is too high, and still no urination...could you maybe call an ambulance? You could ride too, and they are very heavy...just a thought...

Don't want you girls getting hurt out there.

Hang tough...

Sarah
Stacey,

How's Kaylin now? Is the weather letting up?

I like Sarah's idea -- if you two need to go to the hospital, an ambulance, rather than driving yourself, is an excellent idea.

Please check in when you have the chance.

Love,
Gina
well she peed and has kept down tylenol and antibiotics. she drank about 4 oz of water and is now napping. Her temp was 103 and now feels about 100.

The weather was letting up and now a bunch of other storms are coming again and there are so many tornados and they are IN MY AREA!!!

goodnight gina
my lights are flickering and lots o' lightning.
i might lose my connection

Relief. She peed.

Yah! Ok, get some rest honey, might be a long night for you.

Hang tight, those storms will be over before you know it and Bryan will be home soon.

Night night
I didn't see you over here on this thread, Stac. I'm so sorry Kaylin is sick.
A lukewarm bath helps to get a fever down, just don't let her shiver, that causes the body temp to go up. (you probably already know that but I couldn't help saying it) A shame Dr's won't make house calls.
You're both in my thoughts and prayers.

Hey Stacey, I am so sorry to hear about your little one. I know when my kids were as young as Kaylin, I felt so helpless. I sure hope she feels better soon. Stay safe!!
What a relief that her temp is down and that she peed. I can't imagine going through that with tornadoes! I'm praying for you both right now.
I hope you're safe.
Sending huge hugs Stacey! I pray for your little girl to feel better. I can't imagine what it would be like to be in a tornado zone! I know how helpless you must feel.

When there was an earthquake here it was terrifying...when mother nature unleashes her furry we can only pray!

Stay safe.
Man.... when it rains it pours (um, sorry for the accidental weather pun)...

How is she doing now?
How are you doing? Don't forget to take a deep breath and try not to bang your head against the wall too hard :)

Kids are so resilient though it's amazing. And you'll know in your gut if you REALLY need to do something, even if going outside isn't the safest thing (although, I dont know much aout tornadoes).

Good luck with everything and I hope Kaylin feels better soon (and that you get some relief too)...
