Hot Flashes, Chills, And Night Sweating

Hi, I am new to this site and figured this would be a good place to start to discuss my most annoying opiate withdrawing symptoms. I am not yet "off" the medication and am still being prescribed the pills by my doctor for chronic pain. However, I have taken them so long that I notice my body going into early withdrawl basically every day around the same time if I don't take my dose. Does anyone have any solutions for the sporadic sweating, hot flashes, chilly shivers, and night sweating? I know this will not last forever, but I am really having a tough time with these symptoms. Thanks!
Maybe for a while, instead of skipping your dose entirely, take 1/2 or even 1/4 dose, and go from there. Since you are under a Dr's care, is there a reason you can't talk to him/her about it? You do need to make some long term plans, including what to do about your chronic pain.
It is way better to plan that kind of thing in advance, when you are feeling OK , then when u r detoxing or after you have stopped taking medication and find yourself still suffering.
Are you tapering? If so, as soon as you stop taking the pills, the symptoms will eventually go away. As long as you keep taking them, you'll continue to go into withdrawals.
