I'm bout to be 23. My drinking started at 21 but my tolerance has forced me to drink about 1/5th (750ml) of vodka a day. By a day I mean I drink about a 1/5th and a half every 24 hrs if I can (750-1200ml). I take a flask to work and drink in the bathroom or when I take the trash out. I help run a restaurant so I chew a lot of gum an have mints in me all time. I know my drinking is a problem but I just don't quite know how much of a problem it is. I'm in a new relationship and she knows I drink a lot but doesn't quite understand the extent of it
Hey there,
So it sounds like it is getting pretty bad if you have to do it everyday to just do day to day things.
That's how mine started at least. I ended up getting to having to 1.75 litters a day to function due to the fact i became heavier in to it after years and years of not addressing it. I would say that its getting to the point it's a problem when you feel you have to hide it from everyone even your girlfriend. That's just my opinion. When you start doing it daily it becomes one of those things where it becomes easier to justify and easier to hide from people because your tolerance and behavior alters with the using. What might of started of as just having fun when you hit 21 has turned into a habit or an addiction and you should really think about this and see what you want to do from here.

All my adult life from late teens onward I KNEW I didnt drink normally.. you know deep within yourself the truth.. my advice would be to get help now. you will save yourself a lot of heartache, regrets and chaos.. keep coming back. I am interested in what you will decide and there is nothing I like to see better than to see someone young sober up and make a good life for themselves.. I had my first drunk at age 14, last one at 53. It had power over me basically all my life..please do not let that happen to you.. life is precious and meant to be lived..not exist in an alcoholic fog. ANDDDDDDDDD the older you get the worse it will be..
Thanks for your replies
