If you have chronic pain...how can you disinguish between withdrawal pain and your original pain? I don't think it's possible to know. But when you withdraw...you get pain just from that? My legs are killing me and I got up at 3;00 A.M craving a pill...took 2 advils instead and went back to bed.If it magnifies your pain won't you adjust after awhile? Sharonn
I don't know the answer to that, Sharon. I just wanted to say that I'm thinking about you. Hang in there.
What does your doctor say about this?

Sharron,
My husband is going though this as he weans off the sub. That question of what is wd, and what is that real pain. He talked to the doctor who told him to look at everything he is feeling with the drop as wd. In the end he won't know until he is off to begin with for some time what he will have to live with each day.
Pain is a big trigger for him, the doctor wants him to keep it all in perspective and not trip himself into this is gonna be my life, piss poor attitude he can so easily let himself fall into. He doesn't and won't know what will be left behind as he has self medicated for to long. Leaving it as a normal part of withdrawl I think is helping him just accept this is what he has to do since he wants off the sub, and he wants off now.....
I wish you all the best.
Keep the faith,
Love,
Tina

Sharon,
I think once you are completely off everything you will have a better idea of what is going on.
Your doing great sticking to your taper. I know it's not easy.

Hey Rae!!!
Sharonn:
I just wanted to commend you also on your taper. I know this isn't easy, but you seem very determined this time. I am reading the updates on your diary...and I am pulling for you.
In my personal experience, during withdrawal EVERYTHING hurt me. There was a period of time, once all of that was over that my body felt really good...or, I should say, I felt really solid in my body, (if that makes any sense). I was very physical just as soon as I could be after my initial detox, but I definitely felt myself connect to my body in a way I hadn't felt in a very long time. It was good. Not necessarily pain free...just different.
I hope you are able to come completely off all the pain meds without experiencing too much pain. You will be able to view your situation physically from a whole new perspective.
Peace.
Sarah

Sharonn, my pain is very specific and very indentifiable. For me, it was (is) very easy to tell the difference.
