How Long Are The Withdrawals?

How long does it take to withdraw for Hydrocodine? Help!
Hun, everyone is different there is no set time. How long and how much where
you using.

Please to meet you!
I've been on hydro for about a year. I've been reading all these posts and I am not feeling too confident. Will I ever be myself again?

Phyllis
Ok once again, how much were you using per day and what was the dosage? How many days have you been without pills?

We can't help you if you can't spare 2 minutes to type in appropiate information for us.
How many hydros were you taking a day Phyllis?

Welcome
JD
I was taking two to three per day. 325 mg.
The withdrawals shouldn't be that bad at all Phyliss, a few days of flu-like symptoms. Thats a relatively small amount to come off of. A lot of us were taking 10-12 or more a day for years..
You should be fine, but do it now before the addiction becomes worse.

Thanks, John. You think about a week?
Everyones different, but I would say a week at the most.
Hi, nice to meet you...
325 is the amount of tylenol...it is either 5, 7.5 or 10 mgs of vicoden..
Most of the physical stuff will be over in a week, except for insomnia and fatigue..
But it is possible..you can do it..

Kiwi,
You sound to me like a gut level honest person and I just wanted you to know that I admire that alot. Sometimes you crack me up, give me a much needed smile. just wanted ya to know that..........Briar
The first time I got off of hydro, I had been taking 10-12 for about 8 months to a year and the withdrawals were nothing.... I was a little achy and tired, but I was fine within 5 days. I stayed clean for two weeks and then went back to taking them.

The second time I got off of them I had been taking 12+ a day for two and a half years (excluding the two weeks I had quit) and this time the withdrawals were MUCH worse. I had restless leg syndrome real bad, I couldn't sleep, I was so fatigued I couldn't get out of the chair... I didn't really have diarrhea or vomiting, but I had every other symptom. It was about 3 weeks until I felt back to normal.

My sobriety lasted over 2 months this time and then dental surgery put me back to square one (as did some depression over things going on in my marriage). For the last four weeks, I have eaten them like candy. Today I had my first full day with no pills and I had the sweats, the cramping, I couldn't get comfortable in bed.... so I finally got up and took some, just to get me through the night.

With what you're taking, the mental/psychological part will probably be the worst of it. You need to stop now before it gets out of control.

Good luck
Kiwi-I just want to apoligize for getting into it here with you over "you know who". I respect you very much....
I am new to this site, I need to know how to ask ?'s myself. I have been using for years, and was up to 10 to 20 pills sometimes per day. mostly hydro, or anything I could get. I WAS a nurse, recently fired, license suspended. Someone please help me. I was at times suicidle. signed very scared and want help.

Bambi, are you still using? Have you tapered down? Can you go into rehab/counseling? I know that feeling that you are losing everything and your life is over and you don't know where to turn..... This site is not meant to be a substitute for medical advice, but it IS a great place to turn to for help.
Phyllis:

Hydrocodone leaves your body after about 3 days, and the physical withdrawal symptoms seem to last about 3-6 days. Even assuming that you're taking 10 mg pills, 3 pills/day is a pretty low dose. If this is your first time withdrawing, I would wager that your symptoms will be quite mild -- flu, restlessness, fatigue, sleep disturbance. I was taking a lot more than you when I quit, and I was still able to show up for work on Day 3.

Bambi:

Tell us a little more about yourself and allow us to help. Try starting your own thead if you can. There are many people on this site who have been right where you are, and yet have gotten clean to lead full and enjoyable lives. Keep reaching out, M.
I was over the 2-3 but below the 10-12 some here are talking about I am coming up on 5 weeks clean. I was taking 4-6 for over 2 years. I am having a bad morning this morning, but haven't one in 2 weeks, maybe its just hard to get going on Monday morning sometimes. I would recommend being off work for a few days when you quit, it probably won't be that bad, like most have said flu like symptons, restless legs and being tired. Make sure that all the pills are gone , that you have none in the house. Warm baths and showers and try to sleep if you can, good luck.
