How To Best Help Son

Please help with advise. My son in his 30's is addicted to crack cocaine. He goes without sleep for days, is unwashed severely underweight and will steal and lie to get money for his habit. I am really worried he will die from a heart attack and want to know what I can do to help him. He has said it is misery and he wants to get off it, but the detox centre here requires he call in for seven days before they will admit him(it is a city programme) I would gladly pay for detox but dont know how to find a centre. He is often away for two or three days and goes to skid row and is unrecognizable as a man in his 30's. He looks old and down and out. I want to help him. What can I do.

I am a recovering crack addict. I went to a place called The Family in Sunrise Florida. Most health insurance covers it. When I realized that I wanted help, I called them, and less than 24 hours later I wasw in their facility. It is generally a 28 day program. I've been clean for 13 months. But you get out of it what you put into it, so it really depends oon your son's attitude to recovery.

My brother is currently in jail (6 days) for assaulting our mother. He is charged with a felony. My mom had him arrested after he assaulted her, and was being abusive. He is on crack/pot/alcohol. He is 39 has lived with my Mom all of his life, because it has been allowed. He has never had a real job, etc. Will he have any kind of evaluation while incarcerated?
Not unless a judge asks for it
A judge can mandate rehab time in lieu of jailtime. So make sure when his hearing comes up that the judge is well aware of his use and that might very well be what type of sentence he gets.
