I'd think the percocet would help since it's an opiate, but I've been hearing Oxy's a bithch to get off of. I kind of agree with the person who said keep taking the Oxy until you get to detox and they can slowly detox you. I admire your courage for taking this problem head on and trying to get your life back and I know you can do it. It sounds like you're extremely depressed (duh) but your brain quits making the feel-good chemicals naturally when you keep giving it fake feel good chemicals. The treatment center will know how to best handle this and after a while your brain will start making those chemicals again. Don't be surprised if they want to put you on an antidepressent - i would recommend not taking paxil from personal experience. The side effects are weight gain loss of sex drive, and paxil is one of the worst to get off of. They have others, just as effective. Go into treatment with an open mind and it does seem like your looking forward to it because you feel so bad. By your postings, it seems like you aren't in deniel anymore You're having a "moment of clarity" as Dr. Phil would say. When you start to get better, try not to forget how bad you feel now,it'll help you stay clean. When I start "Romantizing"s the past, that's a slippery slope. Good luck to you!

I'm sorry to hear you're having such a hard time, and I know it only gets worse before it gets better, but it does get better. I have never had to detox, but my younger brother has and it's scary and awful, but you get through it. Once you're done with that first week in treatment, you will already have done so much - and then there's just more to learn and grow with. You have done so much already just by realizing that you have a problem. And by saying it out loud. It's taken me years....
I would really like to talk with you, especially about this transition time between being on oxycontin, taking percocet, etc before you go into treatment.
