I Have A Daughter 16 She Has Used Purple Haze Etc

My daughter started out using Robo, Skittles, oxycontin, percoet, muscle relaxers, marijuna. She is saying that she is not addicted to marijuna, and that you cannot be addicted to marijuna. I as a parent never used it . Is or has nay one ever been addicted. She is not using the other drugs (that we know of) but she has been manipulative and has lied so we dont know what to believe. We cannot get any help with Rehab because no heath Insurance . she is being seen by LCC Consolidated care. The county we live in Ohio (Sucks) laws on
Marijuana.
I'm sorry you're dealing with this pain. We are currently looking at booking a family counselling session at $100 bucks an hour or at least when she was our marriage counsellor that's what she charged, it might be more, now. I'm sure the truth will come out in our sessions whether our daughter is using and what she is using. Because she's under 18 I can get a mandatory drug test. Until then i suggest you check out the family board, awesome people over there....take care of yourself first....ok ?

For me, pot has been addictive.

I'm in counselling for ptsd and sexual trauma working on my core issues and also taking classes in addiction.

Today I feel hopeful.

There many non-profit sevices out there set in place just for this situation. SRS is one that will prvide a start. POT is addictive, and as my wife puts it" an addict is an addict is an addict" any use of a substance on a constant bases to alter your normal life routine is an addictiion. Even those medications that are prescibed to help with pain, mood enhancement, and so on can be come addictive and be just as harmful as any illegal drugs on the street. http://teens.drugabuse.gov/ has as many links and useful info one could use tohelp in your situation.
Hello, all,

I am certainly not a medical professional and I have never used any mind altering substance ever, except alcohol. I do have two kids who are both strugglling with addicition. My younger son is 20 and has smoked pot for as long as I can remember. That was his argument, too. It's an herb, a plant...it's not addictive. Tell that to him now, when he's trying his damndest to quit. He has applied to a local union apprenticeship program, and he has to be clean to get it. He is struggling bigtime. Not sleeping at night is a big problem. So, yes it most certainly is addictive and now he will admit it.

Take care,

lavender scent works well for sleep issues, in spray form, or sash under the pillow.....there are plenty wonderful suggestions under holistic approaches on this site....:-)

most grow out of regular marijuana use, but some of us never do.
