Thank you everybody... I so appreciate having all of you here for support (I know I say that all the time but it's so true)...and Idgie, I have thought on a number of occasions that I'm very lucky to have so few friends who drink heavily - there were 2 of those at one time; one moved away (though we still talk on the phone), and one who drove all her friends away (I still worry about her - she is an extremely heavy drinker and has health problems b/c of it - but she will no longer speak to me since I suggested she try to cut down on her drinking to improve her health). And I too have done the "I'll just have a couple before the party" thing in the past, trying to make it look like I drank less than I did. Ditto drinking alone - most of my drunkest nights have been lonesome ones. Anyway, now it's all social-drinker friends for me, which is helpful. Of course I'm still a little jealous of them but that's my thing. Cheers to all of my friends here!
