He is planning to use Subxoidon( I don't think I spelled that right). Can any one here tell me how this works or if it helped them. I have tried for months to do this alone and I know now that I cannot. I am trying to gather info before I being this treatment. Anything I can find out will be a big help

Thanks,
Marina
Marina, your lucky to have found a doctor that will prescribe this. I've been waiting myself for a sub doc. This medicine works by blocking opiate receptors to the brain so you have no cravings for opiates. I havent tried it yet but I've read from a few people who were thrilled with this drug. Even if you take an opiate on sub you wont get any effect because the receptors are blocked.

From what I hear this a a very good way to get off of opiates.
Good luck and keep us posted to your experience and results.

Hi
My boyfriend has been on the Suboxone for 2 weeks, 3 days now. He's going to use it for one more week and then stop. He basically calls it a wonder drug. He's had a 10 year habit and it has been the only way that he has been able to get off of his drug. Apparently, the less time you are on it, the less the withdrawals will be when you stop it. You still suffer withdrawals when you stop the Suboxone, but apparently, they are significantly less than stopping your drug of choice cold turkey and more manageable.
It has made him feel completely normal with no withdrawal symptoms. He only had to go through approximately 24 hours without taking his drug before starting the Suboxone and he said it wasn't that bad, especially since he knew relief was coming. You have to be in withdrawal before you start taking it or you will suffer severe withdrawal symptoms right away. Just be aware of that.
I will let you know how coming off of the Suboxone is once he starts that.
Good luck!!
Mickey
