I'm In Pain And I Don't Know Why

I get to feeling so much emotional pain so I drink/use. When I drink/use, I'm in physical pain. My stomach can't take any more. I can't win.

I'm tired of trying to play this game.

I need help. I need help real bad.

Kerry, I will accept your help. Only thing...I live in Ohio, not California. I'm sure I could look up rehabs on my own. But if you have any extra info, etc. about rehab for people with no money, no insurance....

I still don't know how my family can survive on no income if I were to go, but I'm so sick. I don't care anymore.

I'm so sick that either I get help, serious help, or I commit suicide anyways...that's how sick I feel.

This may be a high bottom. But it is a bottom.

Personally, I don't think I can cope with a lower bottom.

I need help and i need to be cared for and I need to just let someone else take over.

I can't do this anymore.
Jodi - This is it! This is the surrender you need. There is a post here about free rehab I will see if I can find it. Do you have an LDS church nearby? Go there and talk to a bishop they have all sorts of help for this stuff. Let me look around good for you sweatheart. This is only the begining.
Love,
Jane

Free Rehab!

Christian Mission Center is in Enterprise, Alabama..... It is a 4 month long program and it is free... They will send you a bus ticket to and from your home........ There is a waiting list ... 1-334-393-5641, and ask to speak to Gene Warren or John.......... They will give you all of the information that you need... People from all across the United States come here for this program and It is one of the best in the nation...

They focus on recovery and faith comes second... They have group meetings daily, they meet one on one with their counselor daily, they have workbooks and study guides dealing with addiction and recovery.... The faith part of it is only a small part....... They do want them to believe in a HP and see that side of recovery as well.. They are tested on personality disorders and they also test on other things as well... Family is welcome to participate in one on one counseling sessions and group sessions too.. This particular place has a very high success rate... They are located just miles from the meth capitol of the south... They also do UA's every monday and upon entering the program so you or your loved one must be clean in order to get in and must stay clean while there also... When they are not in meetings or counseling they must work at the mission store and they receive 5 dollars per week for that... This program is totally free, meals, room and board, counseling, group sessions, you name it....Sometimes there is a waiting list but get put on it because some people don't show up on their scheduled day and they lose out of their space.... It is given to the first person on the waiting list. They will take any drug addict and there is no age limit!

Jodi,

I'm going to pass along advice I got myself and let's see if we can both put it to some use. I really trust the woman who told me this -- she is divorced, a single mother and one of the universe's natural healers.

She told me: You and I need to stop spinning fantasies about the future. We can't know while we're under the influence of a bad relationship what life can look like when that influence is gone, any more than we can know what recovery feels like until after we're out from under the influence of drugs.

In the past, I've thought too that my only way out was dying and like you, I've worked out ways to kill myself, either slowly or quickly. Of course you must think of yourself first, but when I get suicidal I tell myself that the chances of a person killing themselves goes up astronomically if a parent commits suicide. I could take myself out of my children's lives, I suppose, but I can't lay the groundwork for them to be suicidal as well. I know you love your children, so try to love yourself now. If you can be healthy and happy, that's the best gift you can give them.

So this friend basically said to get into your own body just now, tonight. Tomorrow's problems will come in their own time (whether you want them to or not, LOL). Just today, do something to center yourself -- take a hot bath, build a fire, put on music, meditate. Do whatever you need to to keep yourself from spinning out and grasping at old behaviors.

I think inpatient rehab is a wonderful and courageous thing to sign on for. Don't worry about future finances. There's nothing we can do about that tonight (LOL, meaning I'm done looking for old bank statements for the nonce). Of course we have to think about our financial futures but not to the point where being dead or stoned is a better option. We've both had tension in our homes. This is hell and anyplace we go from where we are right this moment has got to be a step up.

Don't think that I haven't considered taking a "drug holiday" but we both know those holidays can end up lasting for years and take your life before you ever get a clear shot at just taking one free breath. I'm scared spitless. I'm going have to give up this dabbling in writing, which pays peanuts but which I love, for a paying job. My resume was written in the last century. Okay, I'm spinning out again, LOL.

If I can do anything to help, let me know.

Thank you. I needed to read this tonight.

Jodi- How much are you drinking, what are you drinking and for how long? What does the pain feel like? Where is it?
