Hi all
well I'm back from my holiday - had a good time, fantastic place. I few problems caused by drinking (me and H) which I didn't allow to ruin holiday but certainly would have been better without those problems.
However, the good news is its given me even more motivation to quit. Cause I can see how much better my life will be without that mess.
so here it is the 15th beginning of my new life and the new sober me. Keep me in your thoughts guys.
I'm at work now - yoga tonight. Onward!!
No more despair for me.
Idgie
Hello Idgie! Nice to meet you. Congrats on your decision and your 1st day sober! That is wonderful:) What a great sober date....Mother's Day! Keep checking in, we CAN do this together.
((((IDGIE)))))
p.s. That's how it got to be for me towards the end of my drinking. It wasn't even fun, and i knew it wouldn't be before i even did it, but i did it anyways. But every time was also a big reminder of why i knew i needed to quit.
Have a nice day ;)

Good to hear from you, Idgie... hadn't seen you around and was wondering how you were doing. Please keep us posted on how things are going - we are here if you need us!
Idgie, Welcome back and one day of sobriety, woohoo! You can do it, I know you can!!!!!
Thanks all

Wow - did you read my mind. That is exactly how I've felt (and what I've done)the last 6 months or more. I think perhaps we are trying to recapture that "fun" that we once had and sometimes you'll even feel it for a few minutes but it doesn't last - pretty soon you're felling like cr**.
I'm supposed to go to a meeting tonight - blah - not really looking forward to it, cold and wet here rather stay home.

go to your meeting. you'll be glad you did after you go. and you'll be sorry if you miss it.
i'm happy for you that you have made this decision. you will be happy too. remember, one day at a time.
my son is on day 39. i am so proud of him, but i know that we can only do this one day at a time.
stay strong.

thanks co-de - I know I know!!! Its my first one (except for a couple last year), but a different meeting anyway so it just seems like a big step and my head is giving me 1000 excuses to put off going. I'm a master procrastinator.
great news about your son - that is terrific, I'm very happy for him and for you.

Co-Congratulations to your son, 39 days w/o a drink ~ that is a big deal!
Idgie, So glad to hear you went to a meeting, remember to take what you want from the meeting and leave the rest. If I go in to a meeting not feeling good, usually I come out of the meeting feeling much better!
Oh, and I know about trying to recapture that high...I chased that for about 20 years, but none of you have to do that...you can stay sober right now! Believe me it's never the same once it stops working.
