ALL DRUGS SUCK. can i begin my suboxone pills?im not sure if the prescription bottle reads 8-2mg fil or 3 -2 mg fil thanks to all who have a concern for me. I'm suffering for yrs
Don't do it! I once took suboxone because I was out of methadone. Within 15 minutes I was having severe convulsions and went to the hospital. I didn't know at the time suboxone can't be taken safely til methadone is completely out of your system, because it puts you in a state of severe withdrawal. So please be careful and make sure it's been long enough since your last dose of methadone. Yes, all drugs suck. They've certainly destroyed my life.
You're correct, 30 mg is a low dose of methadone is a low dose. However, the milligrams don't seem to matter, the withdrawal experience is very hard regardless of your dose. I've tried many times to escape the prison of dependency, and I also felt lethargic with hot and cold sweats. Worse than the physical symptoms was my depression. I'd cry and feel so sad, which is why I couldn't follow through with a complete withdrawal.
Holly is right, be very careful.
Depending upon your metabolism, weight and activity level everyone detoxes from Methadone at a different rate. I gained a tremendous amount of weight on Methadone ( 70 lbs ) and I took FOREVER to go into REAL hardcore withdrawal. At 11 days from my last dose, I was experiencing the milder symptoms: runny nose, slight restlessness, slight elevated BP. But nothing like detoxing off of rapid acting opiates... I was given Suboxone at 11 days in and went into precipitated withdrawals.
You are older, you've had some serious medical issues. Chemo effects your heart, withdrawal puts a burden on your heart. I don't see why you can't get an MD assisted detox. Talk to your primary care doc., or you're pain management doc. I was given Morphine to lessen the stress on my system.
Of course that didn't stop me from relapsing again or going off the deep end. But, that's a story for another day.
You can hurt your body. Call a doctor... I only say this because I care. Your heart shouldn't be put through this after Chemotherapy, especially at age 62.
