Hi just wondering if anyone can help me.My x husband is an alcoholic and most likely doing drugs to. I have been thru it all the promises to quit, to get help so forth and so on. The newest thing is there is an implant that you can put in your arm or stomache in Europe that will stop you from drinking. Does anyone no anything about this is it true and where can I look it up. He wants to come home again(Ilove him) but I cant deal with the drinking and dead end promises any more.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated,
No, I have to say this is news to me. I have been researching medications for alcoholism and cocaine abuse for quite some time. Never heard of this. If you find any info., I'd love to read it. Please post.

Hi MK316.
How do you know when an alcoholic is lying .When they open there mouth.
Alcoholism is a disease of the Mind, Body and Soul and the main problem of the alcoholic centres in the mind rather then the Body. Thats why I go to AA meetings to get a check up from the neck up.So if there is going to be any implant it would be to exchange Brains.
There is Hope I know because I am living proof. A day at a time I havent had a drink for 14 years and today my wife and I have peace of mind rather than a mind in pieces .
Has your X tried counselling or Alcoholics Anonymous it works for some when there false pride doesnt get in the way, it may work for him. There is also a group called Al-Anon which is for partners of alcoholics they may be able to help you with any questions about your X.
You can reach al-anon through your local phone book or just type it into the enquiry bar on your computer and all the information will come up.
Have a great day .God bless.
