It Finally Happened

One of our former clients that decided to do a little more alcoholic research killed a woman on Mother's Day and sent a man to the hospital. He was not charged yet but they are waiting for a toxicology report. I don't know. He looked pretty wasted on the news video to me. I know he's been on a run for at least 4 months. So if you are thinking of having just one more drunk, think of the consequences. They are pretty damn scary to me. I couldn't imagine living with the knowledge that I killed someone while I was drunk driving. I feel bad for him but I feel worse for the woman's family. Our disease kills in more ways than one.
Wow Kat! Such a tragedy. Senseless on sooo many levels. Thanks for sharing that reality check here. :-)

Damn...that is so very sad. Thank you for sharing what is a very real consequence of our actions. Prayers for the family who lost their daughter, sister, mother, friend and for the man who caused such a tragedy.
I was watching the news clips and they show her daughter who is 24 crying. It is so sad. Imagine your mother getting killed on Mother's Day. That poor woman.
I hate alcohol and drugs!!! I just hate them now!!! Another precious life taken and one left laying in a hospital bed. What's is so sad also is theres a way out!!! I drove drunk more times then I want to remember. How selfish I was!!! I could have taken someones beloved family member to the grave. All because of my choice and the disease of alcoholism. Those who are afflicted by the disease of addiction, if they only had the desire to stop. Moved into action where the solutions can be found. If they just didn't give up before the miracle came. There would be less and less of these senseless tragedies. May I even dare to dream of the day when there are none.

I will pray for comfort for all those left behind! Lifting up a special prayer for the daughter. May she be surrounded by other family members and friends who will hold her in her time of grief. May she know that the body is just a shell. That her Mother's spirit is now free living in complete peace; free of pain. May she be gently kissed by an angel. May she know the Lord is near to all those who hearts are broken. When she sees something beautiful in nature, let it reassure her, that death is not the end. Amen

Thank You Kat,
For reminding me of the insanity of what just one drink would do to me. I'd be right back out there on a run. Thank God today, I don't have to drink just for today!
Such terrible tragedy and all so preventable. May God comfort the two families involved. Thank you for sharing on here it might make someone to stop and think before they drink and drive.
