Its amazing to see my posts here from 2011. Im the one who got the mods and creators of this awesome site to add the methadone page and I see it is still going strong!!
Ive been clean from my heroin addiction for 30 1/2 years by using methadone. I have actually been detoxing for the past 2 years. I was at 105mg and Im at 11mg now. I was dropping 2 mg a month and did great until I hit 6mg. So I went up 5. I have had 13 takehomes for many years so when I go in next time I will drop 1 mg each month. SLOW IS KEY.

Granny23 so great to see you are getting off the Methadone!! That is wonderful news. Down to 11mg from 105! that is awesome!! You should feel so proud! I am almost 6 years clean and dont miss it one bit. Im so grateful for this board and all the support I got while going through my taper. I dont know if I would have succeeded without it.

While I was going through my taper, I received a lot of encouragement from this community, and I am quite grateful for that. Without it, I am not sure whether I would have been able to achieve my goals.
