My son is 19,his drug of choice is ANY kind of weed, pills and I know he's tried meth. The last 5 years have been Hell!!He has been in boot camp for teens, psych hospital,Two rehabs and a sober living facility and jail twice. He is currently incarcerated for theft this is the second arrest and stint in jail. The first time he robbed our house this time he was arrested for breaking into cars.
My question is how do I love him without enabling him,he's in jail and I feel like the one in prison...he calls and blames me,tells me he's sick and losing weight, begs me to bail him out, tells me I don't love him.I don't know how to respond without completely losing my cool and blowing up or breaking down and crying and feeling like I'm the bad guy.I know it was his choices that put him in jail, but I'm his mom what more can I do?
Help I'm tired and I don't want to give up but I also want my life back!

This is all normal for addicts; the the emotions you are feeling are normal for the loving family member.
Please look into Al Anon or NAR Anon. With your son's treatment, I am surprised you weren't exposed to a family support program.
Addiction requires treatment as it is a disease. Family members aka codependents also require treatment. You are powerless over someone else's addiction. Recovery is up to the addict, and only the addict. When using, addicts will use each and every trick in the book to deflect consequences onto other people.
Please look for an Al Anon meeting near you. Don't try this on yourself - that is the big mistake most people do.
