No I did not wash my pills down w/JD...I am not a good candidate for sub due to the xanax..I know you have a difference of opinion...also the prednisone took it's toll on me..got a lovely case of shingles..guess we are all different..right now I am tapering off the few pills I have and having a rough time..but I'll be ok...S

Thanks wench..the truth is that those few little pills are making me real unhappy..I am moody and xdepressed and already showing signs of w.d's...I don't want to lose control of my life..I will ditch them and figure this out..Dottie, I am tough..I will not allow pain or pulls to rule my life!!!!!!! I just want you to be happy. If you can be happy w/o a min. amt of pain pills, then that is wonderful. If you have no quality of life w/o a min. amt of pain pills, you are such a vibrant woman, you will be miserable. You have to get out in the world. I know I am more of a homebody than you are but I think you thrive to get out and see people.
I do, too but I have to force myself, you probably do, too when in pain but can you do this without those few little pills? You hurt many more days than I do.
I hate the pills, too and the way they make me feel. I hope I never have to take another one but I just don't know right now.
Just please don't feel any guilt from this board. We are feeling our way along just like you are. Some are taking Sub (I had never heard of that before this board) You and I can't take that b/c we have to take Xanax. I don't plan on having another seizure b/c of stopping Xanax. The smartest person on the board and the smartest doctor couldn't convince me of that. I had the "Grand Mal" seizure - when I stopped them 2 years ago. I know the people on the board don't want that for us. I have heard where some people die from these. That's why when I hear someone say "no pills - no way" and the person is including Xanax, I try and get to them fast and ask them to pls talk with their doctor first. The N-gist told me he didn't think I would make it through another one like I had before. They had to bring me back. Thank God you are completely out when you are having a seizure, but when you wake up and can't speak for hours - the word in your brain can't make it to your mouth and have lost all bodily functions, it was the scariest medical condition that has ever happened to me. I wish that on no one. It was pure hell and took me at least 6 months to get my memory back - and that was not even the worse part.
So just think which will make you happier, pills or no pills. You are the only one who knows what you are able to tolerate. I only want you to be the happy person that I talked with on the phone and we email all of our troubles and happiness to - my friend. You know neither of us are judgemental people - also - Dottie upstairs - and I want to say e'one on the board but only they know what is in their hearts.
I look for the best in e'one so I believe what I tell the new people - you will never find more caring, compassionate, non-judgemental people than you will find here. It works b/c we have so many people here and so many anniversaries.
