I just read that you lost your job and wanted to say I sure am sorry. I have no doubt this is just another fork in the road of your life, and that you will land on your feet with a new job and do very well.
But in the meanwhile, I am sure you are stressed. Do not let this get to you. I hope, and I am sure, you are doing the things you need to do to keep this all in perspective, and not letting that little demon in the back of your head get the best of you, if you know what I mean. :-)
My daughter lost her job in early Dec., and I have seen first hand what a challenge landing a new job can be in the current market. It's trying, to put it mildly. Although I am sure your resume offers quite a bit more experience, it's still hard to get through those doors and start over.
I wish you lots of luck with that, Don't get discouraged. What is meant to be will be, and any company would be lucky to have you on their payroll.
Chin up!
Let us know how it goes, and if you need a friend, you have many here always.
Love, Carol
Jim,
I remember being devastated when losing a couple of jobs I had, but in hindsight its funny because I always got either better jobs or better oppurtunities. Losing the last job where I worked for someone was probably the best thing that could have happened to me, both financially and mentally.
Regards,
Tom

bump for Jim
Thanks Carol. I just saw this and wanted to let you know how much I appreciate it! You too Tom!
As you both mention, it will work out okay, I am certain of that. At least now that we're in the new year I am seeing a lot more activity as everyone gets back to work. It was so slow during the holiday's - which I expected. And at least I got a lot of interior painting done, and we remodeled one of our bathrooms too, so there's a bright side to this as well!
We miss the paycheck, but we're getting by, and until I stopped going to work every day it never really sunk in how miserable I was. My job had evolved in the past year and it was pretty bad. But I always figured it would work out alright, plus my family is counting on me, etc. In hindsight what I should have done is not settled for less than I am due. Not talking money, but respect.
So lessons learned is we're all "free agents", and to always keep our options open. I should have been looking for a job while employed, but hey, hindsight is 20-20. I never saw the layoff coming.
Tom, so many people have told me the same thing...in a year I'll look back on this and it will be a Godsend. I believe that too.
Thanks again for posting this Carol. You guys are the best!
