I just leaned my son is a heroin addict. He checked himself into a detox place. I'm lost. I don't know what to do. I don't know how this happened. please help.

Yes, do come over to the Family board for support. I recall the shock and upset of hearing that word "heroin", but it's not much different than any other addiciton, just has some scariness attached to it and some other issues that can be a problem with needle use. Good for him for checking in to detox, the hard work starts when he gets out...for both of you.
