Misty- Dont say that!!!!! ughhh.. ;-)
now, now, people lets all get along!!
I'm from FL and it doesnt snow here - but (to me anyway) gets real cold. I remember as a child, when we first moved to Miami in 1969, in the middle of December. To every other Floridian, it was freezing outside. I'll never forget the look on our new neighbors faces when we dove into our swimming pool (not heated, may I add). I guess you really do grow "accustomed" to the weather. I couldnt imagine being in the snow!!! I remember as a child, I loved building snowmen with my family and I still remember my Dad "chaining" our sleds to the back of the station wagon and taking us for a ride around the neighborhood.
That was in Highland Falls, NY. Now I live in Highlands County, FL!!!!
I do miss the change of seasons, though - I think autumn is so beautiful, with the beautiful colored leaves falling..........
Love,
Marie

Come on Danny....I love the snow. I don't want inches of the white stuff I want it by the foot! lol
Missed Marie's post..... now I could do without all the leaves been raking for weeks!
I wish I lived in a warmer climate! But on the other hand I do like experiencing the 4 seasons every year too.
Ive been to florida before. I really like it there. Its super warm and not to humid. I could live there.
Well it's -10c tonight which is the coldest it's been in a long time here. Usually at night it never drops below 0c or 34f I think. The US uses a different system then in Canada I think for temperature.
Even being that cold up here, I'm still eating some ice cream tonight! LOL. Oh well it makes me feel better. Eating chocolate releases Seratonin in the body. It's the hormone that makes you feel good. :)) So I like to eat it.
I hope everyone is having a good night tonight. I'm sure your all warmer then me....

Marie, I just moved back to Chicago after spending 4 years in Fl. Why I moved back, I'll never know, but you are right. For the first year or so, I couldn't stop sweating. Then you get used to it and all of a sudden, 60 In January seems cold! It's so strange. You FREEZE!. We had a heated pool, so I always swam, but then again, I kept the pool at '90. We were in Clearwater.
Misty- You want it by the "foot? Those "is fightin words!" hehe
Hey Kiwi -
So are you really originally from NZ? My best friend went to NZ and Australia on her honeymoon and brought back alot of videos - she and her hubby bungee jumped off that bridge (they say its the first one that anyone ever bungee jumped off of??) - Dont know, but I do know that it's absolutely gorgeous!!!
My good friend Rhonda, who also posts here, lives in Australia and she sent me a package from down under, including a DVD - she has a beautiful home and the land - oh, it is soo greeen. I would love to visit these places one day.
With my savings from buy oxys and percs, I just might be able to do that:o)
Peace to all.... have a good night's sleep.
Love,
Marie

Oh Danny.....I love the snow. I love it even more now since we moved out of the city. I am worse than the kids.....I want school closed as bad as they do. I need them to be home so I don't look silly being out in it by myself. I even love to shovel it.......an I got 80' of driveway to do.
BBbbrrrr....all that talk of snow has me shivering....its coming on summer here in New Zealand. Marie...thanks for replying to my other topic "What was that all about"...you were the only one to explain. That bridge your talking about is the Kawarau bridge (pronounced Ca waar a) Its just out of Queenstown which is the adventure capital. Its the first bridge a guy called A.J Hackett did it off officially, but he got the idea off Papua New Guinean tribesmen, who do it off towers they build, and go head first towards the ground, using vines to spring back with. Now thats gotta take guts! I live in the north island, but we still get snow here in winter. Not actually where I am, but theres mountains only an hour or two away. Most of the real good skiing is down the south island where that bridge is. Its real beautiful down there. Down under it gets colder the further south you go. The south island has a backbone of mountains called (not very original) the southern alps. Lots of lakes and the coast has lots of deep water sounds as well. I prefer the warmer weather though, and stick to the coast in the weekends. I got sunburnt last weekend, and its getting warmer. Hoping to go fishing and diving again soon. Lots of seafood, and its easy to get here.....I wonder what made kiwirain want to move to Canada...sounds really really really cold!!!...Temperatures in the minus's.....Even the coldest places here only get that once or twice a year....Its 1.30 in the morning here now and its about 20C....pretty mild here...not big extremes....OK...Im off to bed....g'nite
