Think of it as an adventure. You'll be fine.
You did it once so why is this any different? What scares you about it? It is just a bus, just people and just a city. look at it this way...You are on an adventure. Kind of like an explorer.
You do things to get over your fears, take that leap of faith, mine is heights, so to get over it, or try to get over it, I took the outside elevator to the top floor of the Peachtree Plaza in GA..
Good Luck today in the City.. look around at the beauty of what NYC has to offer..
Brook
sorry left out the word 'over'...

Hey Brook
If you figure out how to get over your fear of heights, let me know. I can't go above the second rung of a ladder without getting dizzy. You should see me in glass elevators. YIKES!

12 Steppers, same here, was at a conference once, inside elevators to my floor were all glass, I went to the desk asked them if they had an alternative to getting to my floor, they said sure we do ' the steps', I had to make a choice of either walking a ton of flights up or 'glass', I picked the glass, I sweat, my heart beats fast, you know the drill, so I bit the bullet and just looked down the first time up, I just couldn't look out. There have been times I sit on the floor, dont care if people are in there or not. Keep saying to myself, 'what is the worse that can happen"... I changed my thoughts in terms of not concentrating on my fear. Or at least I attempt too.
After a few times of doing this, I made myself look out into the hotel as I was going up and thought, WOW what nice wallpaper.. lol
I am not over my fear of heights, I just face it instead of avoiding it, yes I still get that feeling before I go in, up or over, that I am going to pass out. Deep breaths help .
You will love this story, had to go to a new client, husband gave me directions, purposely did not tell my about this huge bridge, which was the only way to get there unless i wanted to go 3 hrs out of my way to avoid it.
Anyway, driving along, suddenly I see all this metal ahead of me, and I about died. I pulled over, called my husband (you can only imagine how that conversation went lol)... took deep breaths, (now keep in mind, I had to come back across to get home) wrapped tissues in the palms of my hands, to absorb the water lol, looked straight ahead, and prayed like heck...
Same thing coming home, I pulled over until I calmed down enough to cross it. I was not going to drive 3 hrs out of my way to get home.
Like I said, I make myself do things to help me with it.. Will always be a work in progress for me.
Would love to hear some of your height stories....

Brooke,
You sound exactly like my sister. Tunnels are her worst fear though. Elevators come in a close second, I feel bad for her as she works on the 18th floor of a building and she walks those steps 4 times everyday, needless to say she is very fit.
Regards,
Tom
