I have a recovery poster here in my office that says just for today make yourself these promises. The first one says Just for today I will be positive in everything I say and think and feel and do, whatever happens .
Being positive and thinking positive is an important part of my continuing recovery so when I read this on the internet it was a good reminder of a very important part of recovery so I wanted to share with you guys.
In early recovery I had no reason to hope at all let alone be positive about what was at that point a hopeless situation however some how some where with my HP with me I decided to try this simple idea and try to keep practicing it each day now here I am nearly 32 months later reminding myself daily to stay positive and believe.
So just sharing this so for the next 31 days lets remind each other to stay positive in all we think feel and do and see what kind of difference it makes in our lives one day at a time.
Much love and respect,
Jane
Jane:
I love this post! I truly believe our thoughts create our reality. Positive thinking and perception are key for me and it is a daily reprieve, lol. It is easy for me to fall back into negative thinking but it truly is about how I perceive situations. Just for today, I will focus on having an attitude of gratitude and seeing the good things around me. This definitely takes action and it is up to me to do the footwork. Thanks Jane!

Great post Jane!
Thank you, I have always lived my life with a half full cup. Its not easy especially when life throws it twists and turns...but the alternative is just not acceptable for me. Its a long long life when you are angry and negative. I want to enjoy my days here on this earth....I want to feel that I have contributed something for someone somehow!
Sometimes its just the simple things that bring such joy! I will focus on those things this month!! The simple things.....like watching my grandaughter laugh....a full belly laugh! I love that! All the things that I see right now that just tantalize my senses...the ocean...the palm trees...the plumeria's and the bougainvillea are in full bloom!!!
Yipppeeee...its a great day!

KeeKee-I have a red plumeria that I've overwintered and am ready to set out again. They are my favorite. You are lucky to see them as big trees in Hawaii. Not to mention all the different varieties of gingers and bromelliads. We can grow some here but if we have a hard winter you have to protect them.
Take all that beauty in.I love this time of year too.

Nice flowers Tim....now about the tatoos? lol. .. kidding (sorta)
Kee Kee- Thats great that you have always done the half full. I struggle with it sometimes hence the reminder as much to myself as everyone else.
Rachel & CG *smiling and waving! Good to see you guys.
Thanks for your replies and keeping me positive you guys are all the best. .
Love you all,
Jane

Jane,
Wonderful topic. It's a good month to be positive. Spring's arrived in the South (my part of it anyway). Every time I go outside, there's a quarter-inch more new green showing on the plum trees. I'm waiting for the dogwood and redbud to blossom -- then we have about three weeks of glorious weather before the sweaty part of summer comes crashing in.
Thank you for sharing your positive outlook. I will tactfully not mention Tim's tattoos...
LOL

Gina

Jane, Thanks for the reminder, like kee-kee said focusing on the simple things that bring such joy. Alot of times for me the negative thinking takes over and I forget to take the time to stop and smell the roses. Thanks, Shantel
Hey Jane!
Thanks for sharing this post with me today! I have been working really hard to keep things on the "light" side of the street. I have really been missing laughter, and I am ready to start doing that on a regular basis.
As Gina said, things are greening up outside...I noticed my first redbud tree blooming on the drive home this afternoon...it made me very happy!
Tim: Beautiful plumeria! Good job. Ummmmm....in keeping with the positive thought idea: I just know you are going to show these girls your tatoos very soon!
Love to all,
Sarah

Ok...I take all of that back!! I seriously want to strangle someone or something!!!!!
This day has been hard hard hard! Man just when you think things are great!! Someone poo poo's in your Corn Flakes!!
Just kidding....it really has been a very long hard stressful day! WTF is wrong with people??? Man I need to go to my meeting!! I have missed the last several days...my husbutt is out of town and I am doing...well everything...which I do normally, but he looks after Kearra while I go to my meetings.
Tim, that is the most gorgeous plumeria! You wouldn't believe how lovely everything is here...some of the ginger plants, I swear are 7 feet tall. I will try to photograph one and post it!
I am ok...really...but it really has been wacko...most of which I will spare you all!
Hope all you have had a better day than me. Good thing is that tomorrow is a fresh start! Yeah!

kee-kee, Sorry you had a bad day yesterday but today is a new day. I hope you have a great one. When is your hubby coming home he's been gone awhile? I know how stressful it can get when they are gone. I would get so use to my husband doing all the running around with the kids and then he would have to go out to sea for 6 months and everything was left for me to do alone. Don't forget to take some time to yourself just to unwind maybe after Kearra is sleeping? Shantel
Morning Shantel!
Morning Kerri,
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardship as the pathway to peace.
Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is,
not as I would have it.
Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life,
and supremely happy with Him forever in the next.
I'm not praying at you, I just like a well-written piece that comes straight from the heart. Have a better day today.
Love,
Gina

Morning Gina, Long time no talk to. How have you been? I've been putting in alot of overtime at work finally got a day off today thinking about getting a pedicure. No housecleaning for me today. Now that's what I call positive thinking. Shantel
Hey Shantel,
The weather has been really lovely here lately; ditching work seems to be the order of the day. Everyone is suddenly taking things slower and I've been out catching up with friends who until this week have been busy with one minor disaster or another.
A moratorium on housecleaning sounds like a positively wonderful idea. I'm scheduled to go on a walk in Duke Forest with my friend. We both have poorly socialized dogs and we're bringing them with us. There may be bloodshed, LOL.
Enjoy your pedi. Thrown in a mani as well. Fill your boots!
Love,
Gina
