If a person was on 360mgs of methadone as I have been for a few years and on methadone all together for ten years and I dropped down to 40 mgs how long will it take my brain to get used to this dose. My doctor is going to get her SUBUTEC waiver in August and I want to get off of methadone for good. It has produced nothing but depression the last year and I am really a miserable human being. I do not go to a meth clinic I get mine from my dr. If I take 40 mgs for 7-8 days will my body get stable on that dose. I have no illusions that during these 8 days that I will feel anything but hellacious

Jw,yer on an awful lot of meth.if you dont mind me asking how come your on a v.large dose.As far as getting off,dont rush into things,a drop of 10ml a wk.for the 1st few mnths,would leval you off easily.Iwouldnt jump from such a high dose to just 40ml,yuo would go thru a baaad rattle&even after 8/9days as you said,i think from being on it longterm&dose you might be lookin at a mnth or two to feel ok.JMO.All the best ,.....Davey

where I come from (Australia ) they won't give anyone more than, well the highest dose I've heard of is 2oo mgs but regardless of that there's no way I
would be going from 360 to 40 in to much of a hurry. Just take your time
and very importantly stay positive, if you tell yourself you are going to be sick
