It depends on where u are taking the test. Methadone clinics will test for it, of course. They test for everything. On ordinary drugscreens,(like for a job) methadone usually doesn't show up. I think they have to do a specific test.
From my understanding via a drug counslor at methadone clinic.. THERE is NO test that will ONLY show heroin. Herion breaks down as Morphine, that is what shows on a heroin addicts test, not the heroin it's selfs! So you'll be + for Opiates not heroin. Methadone is tested and shows "at least the counslor says" as methadone only. FROM my understanding METHADONE will not show on a standard job test unless they are looking 4 it.
These five drug classes are mandated for testing by the Federal Government:
Cocaine (cocaine & benzoylecgonine)
Marijuana(THC)
Opiates (Codeine, Morphine & 6-monacteyl morphine)
Methamphetamine (Meth, Amphetamine & Ecstasy)
Phencyclidine (PCP

I have the same information as ZG above

6-monoacetyl morphine (6-MAM) is an active metabolite of heroin, not morphine, (the heroin molecule itself has no opiate agonist activity. Heroin is metabolized in the brain into 6-MAM and morphine, which are the active opiates) and definitely show ups on any standard opiod test. More and more opiod panels now test for methadone as well and the full panels now also test for buprenorphine as well. It will all depend on how expensive and thorough a place wants to get.
Oh, they also test for oxycodone as well now.
