More About Mrsa Plans For Me

When I had them done today my appointment was at 8:30 and the doctor looked over my tests and this is what it found. Interesting enough it was only found once out of three times of testing 6 times since I have been sick at other doctors and hospitals. As bad is this seems I'm so lucky it's not terminal. I was scared to go to a infectious disease doctor all knids of things went through my mind. I honestly can say I didn't use anything for pain except for Motrin 800. My DOC was lortab or anything I could get my paws on....LOL..not funny but true.
After my appointment I went upstairs for my surgury . I laid there and the anesegiologist(sp) came in and I told him to put me out. I didn't want to take any more chances of waking up during another procedure. The nurse came in and looked at it and then I lost it. I cried becasue I was relieved that I was going to get help for it but also because I needed pain meds. SHe and everyone else there is aware of my recovery. On the other hand they said and I agree....I hope I don't get jumped on..but just being honest..that I needed something for relief. THey gave me morphine via IV and versiad after looking at it and also seeing that i was in pain. After examination they surgeon found two more pimple like boils that he lanced also in surgury that were peeking through.
I do have very strong antibiotics(zyvox) on these darn things I can't have cheese, wine or chocolate...whats a girl goin gto do ? LOL. Blew my mind. I have pain meds here at home now. I have them in hubbys controll. He has them. Only to be given as prescribed. NOt two or three one. Please keep me in your prayers and send any advice you can my way. I'm not far in recovery and can tell you this isn't good having them in the house. I have them out of my hands but know they are here. I have a nurse coming twice a day to change my bandages and have to go back to the infectious disease doctor on Tues. If she isn't happy with results IV antibiotics are goign to be needed. I never expected it to go this far so wasn't ready yet to have this challenge. On the other hand my hypocondriact mind thought I was dying so at the same time life is too short for us all to use and be controlled and not have a choice so that helps.
On the funny side. My surgeon walked in before my surgury and I said in happiness...Hey it's only MRSA he actually got angry and said that's the worst thing it could be why are you happy? And then he left. I felt stupid but I know it's treatable. He told my husband after the surgury about my comment and said," That's like swimming in the ocean and saying don't worry it's just a great white shrk nibbiling my toes" They voth laughed. That's me though if it's not terminal I"m happy! Thanks for listening. They gave me IV antibiotics during surgury also and I just woke up form my nap and was wet from head to toe so maybe it's already starting to work...UHHHH Thanks again for your support and friendship and prayers!

Sarah, I am glad you got that all squared away. Yeah, hope the pain subsides very soon!

Don't feel bad about taking the pain meds as needed. It sure sounds like you need them, and in that case it's not considered a relapse.

Take good care of yourself! I have heard some pretty sad and scary stories about staph and MRSA. If it gets out of hand it can do some serious damage. I am sure you dr. is taking care of it all and you will be fine.

Have a great weekend!
hey sara, just wanted to say hi and hang in there, you have a great attitude, and things will work out. let me know if you need to talk about anything at all. just keep the faith and hang in.
Thank you my friends. I appreciate the support and the understanding about the relapse thing. I do feel guilty though . But it's amazing they are making me so tired I can hardly keep my pepers open...lol.
Yes mine was about out of hand. I mean 3 in a 2 mo period no antibiotics helped all surguries. YUCK and then like I said they founf two more starting. Butt is going to look terrible. Oh I have a funny story too.
The nurse came in with a camera and I had to spread them so she could kep record on progress..LMAO I wish LOL
sarah,
hey hun, hope you're feeling better real soon..
i think you made the right choice lettin your hubby

good luck..

You shouldn't have any problems with the meds, especially if your husband is strong and won't allow more than the Dr. prescribed. Actually when my husband had them, I didn't think about it as much, because it would of been a losing battle if I ask him before time was up. I know you will be in alot of pain, but only take them as long as you have to and as soon as you can get by with advil, tylenol or aleve (which last longer ) I would take something with an antiinflammatory since you are so inflammed. That would help with the swelling. These are some antinflammorties: aleve, advil, motrin and they usually work longer than tylenol anyway. My thoughts are with you.
sara, i wanted to say hi to you and let you know how relieved i am that it is not terminal, and that you made it threw surgery,so bravely!!way to go,what a strong woman you are.:) i hope that you are feeling a little better today, hope that you are resting and that your hubby is taking good care of you, which im sure he is.:)let me know how you are doing later sweetie, still in my prayers, luv kimber:)
Be careful. I had a staph infection that was MRSA and I have never felt the same after the continuous amounts of antibiotics I was on. I am on a ton of supplements including Acidophilus to try to get my immune system back to normal. It seems after I had that infection my immune system became compromised and I was sick every few weeks. Really sick and they couldn't find the root of the problem. Now, they have identified the virus which is a direct result from the MRSA weakening my system.

RAchel
Hey Racheal! Thank You so much for sharing your story! I'm not worried that's for sure. These antibiotics they put me on had my having arm pain, dizzy, and couldn't stay awake most of the day it was a bad feeling. The have me on zyvox 600mg twice a day. But becaeu of this reaction I had I'm not takin gone tonight and seeing how I feel tomorrow. The Doctor told me it was becasue I was on paxil. She said we could try something else but it would proboly be IV antibiotics outpatient.Funny thing is I never felt ,"bad" except for these boils that came up. They are extremely painful. I 'm not trign to complain or feel sorry for myslef but I"m truely scared. I don't have a fever now just these boils. They are like bed sores. Two of them are open now. One more is poking out but docotr lanced that yesterday too. I haven't ever had aproblem like this ever.
Do you really want to know something sad. I haven't told anyone about this until today. I didn't take my antibiotics for three of the previous boils . I honestly didn't thank it was neccessary I felt fien and I didn't want to ruin my buzz. Eating inhanced iit for me. Please don't get the wrong idea. I'm not giving out tips to enhance highs I;m being honest and letting everyone know how sick addiction is and now how sick I am. The more I read the more I'm afraid this is somehow going to get out of control.
So how long again did it take you to knock it? Do they know exactly how you got it? And you said you still feel funky. I'm so sorry sweetie. It's not easy being sick all the time. Were you in the hospital?
Thanks again sweetie!

Sarah:

They think I got it from a Dr.'s office or hospital. I work in the medical field and spend most of my days in the Dr.'s offices. My Dr. said it probably got under my fingernails and I scratched myself and then I got some scratches on my arm that wouldn't heal. The staph. is gone , the antibiotics I was on are what left my immune system compromised. I was on so many different ones for very long stretches and even ended up at the ER from toxicity from them. I am gaining my energy back slowly but right now what I have is the virus that produces Mono, so I am fatigued all of the time. I started feeling better when I started taking Flax Seed Oil, CO Q 10 and a host of other Amino Acids that seem to be building my system back up. Take care of yourself and realize it is hard to get rid of MRSA. It is a very resistant pathogen.

RAchel
Thanjs Racheal! I"m sorry to here abotu all of that with you Mono drains you form what I hear, bless your heart!
I work in the medical field also so perhaps that's how I recieved it! I'm definatley going to becareful calling doctor first thing in the mornong to find out plan of action.
Sarah
Sarah,
Be happy they put you on zyvox. I have a lot of experience (selling) with this drug and it literally - saves lives. You also get to go home sooner on it because there is an oral formulation. Since you are taking pain pills as prescribed, will you have to go through the withdrawals again?
Thank You I"m am very lucky. My husband has good insurance so I take them orally I have had some side effects like dizziness and shortness of breath today but not near as bad as yesterday! I think everything should be ok with the pills. I'm going to even try and cut down tomorrow and just take half the dose. Thank you for writting and your support. Have a wonderful day!
with Love,
Sarah
