I lost my suboxone dr. bc my dr. said i commitied fraud .By falling the drug for oxy's.....What will medicaid do?will they cut me and my family of of the medicaid?
Crystal, what do you mean by falling? Did you go back to oxys? If you relapsed, then that can sometimes be part of the process and I am sure these docs (the good ones) will understand that.
I don't know about the medicaid; talk to them.
Good luck.

Medicaid wont do anything. They are in the business of money, not healthcare.
Do you mean failing the drug test for oxys? If so I didn't know they had specific tests for specific drugs. I thought the drug tests showed amphetamines, opiates, barbiturates, pot, etc. but no specific drug names unless it was an in depth test. I could very well be wrong.
What happened Crystal, you found a new sub doctor and then what occurred?

Yeah, Brookie. I had a salesman telling me how I needed to buy oxy tests last week. I think they would come up positive for opiates anyway.
They can do hair follicle test that will show any specific drug but those are expensive.Usually,it's just a UA showing opiates, benzos, pot, amphetamines.
How they specifically nailed it down to oxycodone would not be from a UA.
Also I wouldn't exactly call it fraud. You used and maybe the best approach would be to come clean.I can guarantee you're not the first.

I have tests for benzos opiates pot coke and speed. You can buy tests to test for anything. They have them from one panel to ten.
Morning Kat.I got a new car, well it's a 05.I went out the wreakage place to get anything left in my old one and it looked like a smashed beer can.It was a sad moment. We had been through so much.
I've always wondered how they can differentaite Suboxone when you do a test.Doesn't it come back as an opiate?

I did some research on sub tests and because I am old I forgot what it was. Next time I order more tests I'm going to ask my sales rep. If I remember.
I just talked to my drug test guy and he said it should test positive as an opioid so I guess it would show up on any opiate test? No idea. I would happily drug test a volunteer though.
Sub has to be specifically tested for, it does not show up on a UA test as an opiate.
Neither does methadone, that is an add on...
Not all opiates break down into morphine, codiene...Heroin does but it is harder to detect usage as heroin, because it quickly breaks down to codiene, morphine...vicoden always shows as it breaks down to codeine...
If they see a 6 acetyl-morphine result, heroin is that...
Hydrocodone use to never show up, oxycodone didn't either as they do not break down into morphine, codeine....
But that has changed and now the newer opiate test have these both as standard...
And there is a test to detect tramdol/ultram use, not sure if that was added to the newer testing system or if it is just an add on.
But if I am remembering right there are 5 things they test for, not 5 drugs, but 5 alkaloids, metabolites...whatever is the right word....

Crystal,
I am also on Suboxone and if when we started the program the doctor explains to us what happens if you test positive for drugs. In my case, my sub doctor accepts patients who have gone to inpatient therapy and then he continues with the outpatient. The deal is that if you test positive once, back to intensive outpatient you go(5 days a week, 7am to 6pm for 8 weeks). If you test positive a second time, back to inpatient you go for 14 to 30 days. And if you test positive a third time, he writes one last prescription to taper off the suboxone because it's obviously not working for you.
But they cannot just cut you off entirely without warning, it is unsafe. Have you been fulfilling all of the other requirements which your doctor has set for you? And also....why were you taking Oxy's while you're on sub?
I don't post here alot so I'm not sure on your history, but I don't think that switching to methadone is going to fix anything. If you were using on Sub, what will stop you from using while you're on methadone? Are you able to check in to rehab? How long have you been on sub for and what was your dosage? Let us know how we can help you.

Wake, doctors can and do dismiss patients all the time regardless of the dose of sub they are on.
I would like to think that if a patient is on 4mg or more a doctor would not just toss them out of the program, but it has been done.
There have been people on this board and the naabt.org board say they dismissed them for whatever reasons. I am sure we are only seeing one side of the story on the boards though.
Crystal needs to finish the story, she needs to come back and tell details as to why the doctor said she committed fraud. We really cant tell by her post. If she desires to do so.
Example, my doctor in his contract made it clear of his 'rules'. If you fail (drug test) once, you are out of the program. No questions asked. I would hope that if I or any patient had been on a high dose he would have worked or does work with patients to taper if they do not follow the rules, I do not know that, I followed the contract rules that I signed.
He wanted serious patients that wanted to get clean, not just to get through WD between drug runs.
Other doctors give second chances and third chances. Depends on the prescribing doctor.

Just wondering if Crystal meant "failing" the drug for oxy or "Filing" the drug for oxy. If she meant the latter than that would be fraud wouldn't it? Meaning instead of filing the med as suboxone she filed it for oxy's....maybe b/c they wouldn't pay for sub?..?..?
I don't know.....that is just what came to mind when I first read the post.......
I am probably way off!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway....sorry bout your predicament crystal

To solve the mystery, percocet, is oxycodone not hydrocodone, that is why you failed the test...She just assumed you took oxy, never looked at the fact that you could have taken something else from the same class of drugs...
Even if it doesn't negate the fact that you used...
I am sorry you are going though this, and being outside the box which I am I have strong opinions of sub doctors who cut off or act like this. It won't ever make sense to me...
If she is being strictly paid by medicaid, they might have thier own set of rules she must follow...and that may be where the fraud word walked in.
But then something still bugs me, she perscribed soma, with benzo's with sub....no that ain't working either, even if I know that the klonopine is perscribed more often then most would think, or like with sub.
You didn't say anything about signing a contract, or if you did I missed it...did you?
Good luck,
Love,
Tina

Crystal,is thereno way of talking this through with your Doctor.Telling him you made a mistake, explain it exactly as it happened. Most sub Dr's will give patients at least one mistake.
By just letting them do what they want, without explaining, you could lose your medicaid for your whole family and thats not fair?
I would go in and have a talk with him and try and work things out.Good luck, regardless what you chose to do.~KIM

Crystal you were prescribed soma and klonopin? You say yo udid not take it?
Both drugs are quite addictive. Why would the doctor prescribe them? And if he did why would you not take as directed?
Do you attend meetings? or therapy with this doctor?
If your on sub soma and klonopin? as usual I am lost??
