Do any of you have personal experience with Narcanon treatment centers? y 21 year old daughter is in crystal meth relapse after 2 separate 30 day 12 Step based treatment centers and I am looking for other successful alternatives to treatment. Please help!
Narcanon is a recruiting front for the church of scientology. If you support the Scientologists no problem, but you should at least know what you are getting into.
I am very close to sending my son to a Narconon facility. They have assured me there is no religious affiliation with the program. Please tell me if you base
your statement on actual experience, or heresay. I am desperate to get him help asap.

those scientology people will tell you anything to draw you in to their stuff.
creepy.
creepy.
Narconon is Sicentology (eg read this). It deceptively uses "Narconon" to be confused with Narc-Anon which is of course Narcotics Anonymous and more commonly known as NA. It is also easily confused with Nar-Anon Family Groups which is the 12 step group for family and friends of addicts.
Kirsty Alley was recruited to Scientology via Narconon.
Even if you don't care about the Scientology link, the treatment methods offered are not based in evidence and are a complete scam. (see this link for info on the treatment and why it is a scam.)
Information on the link between Scientology and Narconon is all over the internet, these are the first 10 links that come up on my search:

Narconon Int credits L Ron Hubbard for the programs methods.. now THAT is scary. here
Last of all it claims to have a painless drug withdrawal that uses NO drugs. If this worked don't you think addiction centres all over the world would use it?
I wouldn't send a drug-addicted dog to narconon.

We were recently "dooped" by a Narconon program- they misrepresented themselves and denied any involovement with Church of Scientology- after 4 days at their Michigan facility we removed our daughter- she described numerous "sessions" that sound like hypnosis. The facility has yet to release any medical records- drug, blood testing- they ripped our daughter off of clothing and cash.
There are two websites for the Stonehawk program in Battle Creek. Beware! The ethics of this place are all about $$ - and preying on the emotionally desperation of families looking to help loved ones.
