I am addicted to lortab, i usually take between 8 and 10 a day. I have done this for about 1 1/2 years. I would like to stop. My question is what would be the best plan of attack. Do i try to quit cold turkey? Is there any other kind of medication than methadone. I live in mississippi . what are my other options as far as the physical withdrawals go. Please respond and give advice. I need it badly.
Grant
It really is a hard question to answer. Where are you getting the pills? Are you going to a dr or getting them on you own? Do you have support for yourself once you get off? I would be more than happy to help because I have stopped myself and know how hard it can be.So if you don't mind being a little more specific I'm sure you get some ideas from this message board.

DEAR GRANT,
you will get alot of different suggestions on this site for your question. my advice is , that the success rate of the do it yourself group is very very low . i went into detox and then straight ti rehab . this is the method prefered by most doctors because of the dangers of detoxing without the probable assistance from medical professionals . they will check on you every 15 to 30 minutes to make you as comfortable as possible . they will check your vitals every 2 hours to make sure your blood pressure is not getting to high . now , what if you don't have innsurance? well get in touch with your local ADAC , they can usuallyget you in to detox on a government defferal. that is usually the gentlest and most successful way .
