Misty is right, inpatient detox is probably the easiest way. I managed to wean once..I took 2 a day for 10 days. It was really rough, but by day 10, I only had the fatigue left.
Face to face support is really important also..
Good luck.

Hi Navha,
Welcome to the Board. I also had a 20+ a day norco habit when I decided to quit by weening/tapering. I did a pretty quick taper though: the first 5 days I took one dose per day of 8 tabs; then reduced to 6/day for 5 or 6 days. Then I exceeded my allotment one Friday night, and Saturday morning I flushed the remainder. I knew if I didn't go cold turkey at that point, the taper slip would become an excuse to continue using. I had a bad case of the flu for 3 -4 days, and had difficulty sleeping for a while longer, but my fear of withdrawal exceeded the reality. Not enjoyable, but doable.
I say all that because tapering down to one or two pills a day (from a 20+/day habit) is very hard to accomplish if you're addicted to the "high," as most of us were. Once you go below the number of pills you need to get that "high," it's almost like mental torture to keep trying to control the intake. If you find that to be the case, and slip up as I did, please don't give up on your ultimate goal of achieving abstinence. You've already tapered down to an amount per day that will make the physical withdrawal much easier.
Glad you have made this decision, and glad you are here Navha. I think you'll find the freedom that awaits you will exceed your dreams. Much support, M.
