ranrola7@aol.com I have four days sober again . I last had 70 days sober. I have been in and out of AA sense I was seventeen. I am 45 now I am ashame to back to AA. So I am going to this by myself and take antabuse. I feel like giving up but i not going to.
Go back to AA its hard to do it on your own the doors are always open for you, your an alcoholic and thats where you should be, the people there are the same as you its one day at a time.
you will feel so much better going to meetings and talking to people with the same illness we all help each other.
I keep going out there and drinking and desperatley want to stop AA is the only way , otherwise we have no chance.
good luck Debbiex

PS... DO U HAVE KIDS
I know how you feel about giving up. It seems hopeless, but I have heard success stories, so there must be a way. I keep slipping up every week it seems. Just cant get the hang of it, but it's probly cause I havent been going to AA. I will start after my wedding.
Hi ZZ...congrats on your 70 days which you still have. Funny how we figure we lose the days we put together, I see that as a strength.
You're right.....we don't give up, it's not an option, we're certainly battling something powerful here....AA does work, and the gang would gladly welcome you back with open arms....who better to understand then others like us. I've been in and out of AA myself, and it does work, the problem is some of us get to smart for our own good, we figure we can to it ALONE...nope it doesn't work that way. There are other options also, such as SMART, a self help program that helps to change your thinking.
Wishing you the best.

Hi ZZ every sober day is a miracle.
No one is a failure as long as they keep coming back.
Its virtually impossible to heal a sick mind with a sick mind. So please get back to the meetings. Amongst people who understand what your going through.
Because their been there. You can help others by sharing your experience with them. You may need to find a good doctor, but be honest with him.
You may think the doors of AA are getting smaller, but they are still open. Keep in contact let us know how things are going because people do care.
Your Wanted ,Needed and Loved.
Doors will Open. God Bless LionelC

I hope everything is well for you ZZ.
I just got on the internet today to try and find some AA meetings in my area and am having a hard time locating them.
I clicked on to this site and started to read some of everyone's stories. I am still questioning weather I have a problem or not, I am pretty sure I do or I would probably not be here or even responding.
I am really scared of the whole thing. I feel if I try and don't succeed I am weak and a failure. I am tired a feeling quilty for my drinking. Of course not when I have a buzz going on.
Thanks I just needed to say something
