O/t Let's Talk Space

Been too long since I posted one of my mindless, trivial, good for nuttin rants.

Culture, custom, and how it differs.....should one adhere to their new countries customs...........absolutely I don't think you should give up the customs of your Fatherland, but how can ya teach people who have come from other countries about our customs?

I give you this..........in line in the store, supermarket, pharmacy, boutique, you name it............isn't there an unwritten rule ya don't stand too closely in the checkout line........to the person in front of you?

Well, in America there is.........and I ain't one of them ditzy broads thinks everyone should be Americanized cause we rock........BUT........don't be stand in my AURA..........MOVE BACK.........if I am paying and you are within no lie five inches of me.........I mean you are literally up my butt........well I got a problem with you..........happens alot.

So the other night in the very LONG line..........I got a man behind me.......an Asian man..........he could have been Chinese, Vietnamese, Hmong.......I don't know............well he's like right almost up my arse........so I switch my foot like my leg..........switch my weight.........finally I am paying and ain't he put HIS purchases ON the counter while I am PAYING for MY stuff.

I say like this "Pick your damn stuff up cause it ain't your turn".........he don't understand..........yeah, yeah ya do...........so I pick them up and hand them to him.............I say "Now you are waiting longer"...........he's next to me now......NO NO NO..........I say excuse me to the cashier.......who is laughing......I said "Buddy it is bad manners in America to stand so closely to someone. You need to back off, step off, move it, cause YOU on top of ME ain't getting you up there any quicker, K, K????????"

He answered in English..........he's sorry........I say no problem but your going to get on top of the wrong person and you will be sorry............keep some distance............some half arms lenght if you will........it's the American way.

So, yeah I love to idle over trivial things...........and I shared cause I didn't cold c*** him like I did a Mexican gentleman in the same store whose kid tackled me..........I was calm and polite.........but is it just me??????

My space was violated..........my aura disturbed.
Oh Bryn, I JUST LOVE YOU!!!

One of my pet peeves has always been people breathing doen my neck!
A couple of times, I have turned around, very haughtily, and said, "I'm sorry, am I in your way??? Of course, he (it's always a he, it seems) probably doesn't know what I'm talking about, not because of a language barrier, but because he is simply too dumb to understand my brand of sarcasm.

And don't you just love the way the person behind you pushes his shopping cart so close you can't take a step back without getting bumped in the derriere.
(see, that's my french language al a Leslie C.)

You always seem to hit on just what is wrong with most of the human race, except of course, you and I, and anyone who agrees with us, right?

love, rita

Hahahaha You got me laughing with this one Bryn!!! I can just picture you telling to back off! I hate that too...especially if they actually TOUCH you...eesh! I get all bargy with my elbows and "accidentally" give them a shove! I get kinda panicky in crowds too...not like a phobia or anything, just people piss me off! Hate it when I like go to the beach or anywhere really and there's too many other people there...I know it's not MY space but how dare they?????!!!!!!!!!!!! Lol

The biggest interference to MY Space these days is the fuc**kig cell phone.
What did people do before this invention. Now they cant go shopping w/o being on the phone"The carrots are on sale,Shirl, what do ya think?"
While driving- some knucklehead smacked me in the back- - because she was on the phone!
Everywhere I go- - from the local bodega- to the movies- to waiting to get gas at a station- - someone feels the fuc**ing need to be on the phone.

These people definitely screw with MY space & need to make these calls only for emergencies , not to chit chat.

Jack I am a cell phone HATER too, in general phones of any kind annoy me. I did not own a cell till about a month ago. I don't call nobody. My bf got me a phone all the bells and wistles takes pics, video, mp3s, plays games. He says I NEED one in case i'm out with the kids something happens. I forget it & leave it at home, half the time lol. I can't figure out why people need to talk so much
+ who are they calling?. The worse when your at the movies one phone rings 35 people start looking for their phones they get in panic mode. I hate to answer my home phone.
Americans in gereral don't like being touched. Open hugs and stuff a bit taboo. I use to date a Puerto Rican guy his family was touchy!!!!. REAL BIG on hugging sitting real close. They were a awsome family i did admire how close they were. I always felt violated after going to his house his family was all hands on. In my family i rarely hug my mom "i mean like once a year". I think the personal space needs respected but ALSO it's healthy to conect to other humans. I get annyoed to if i'm touched by strangers. I don't think other countries are so big on the personal space issue.
Yeah definitely a cultural thing. There's a South American girl works in a restaurant in our town...she's very touchy-feely...lots of people thought she must be gay...and I'm like...no, it's just a different culture! We don't get a lot of cultural mix here...shame really.

Cell phones...hehe...mobiles...I must admit I talk quite a lot...but what gets my goat is when you're having a face-to-face chat with someone and they're bloody texting someone else! How rude is that?!!!
Texting for one is killing the english langauge as we know it ..c u l8r....Davey
HATE HATE HATE.....HATE.....texting! Bad enough I have to talk on the damn thing(LOL)but the I....um HATE texting!
Ain't this all the truth?

Now, do ya think it's bcause we are from a different generation that we have an adverse reaction to cell phones? Talking and texting?

Agreeing with Jack. On one horrible train ride home from down South I had some dude didn't shut up on that phone even when we got stuck for three hours at a standstill. Best is he was speaking in Russian. If for five seconds he hung the he*l up we heard real loud "MAIL CALL". That was his ring tone. Then I knew I was in for some more Russian yapping. Honestly if it was all business I guess well he had to, but during parts where he spoke Russenglish it was all about Vladamir and his hot date he got with. I was NOT needing that.

TEXTING. At least we ain't got to be listening. Although, these kids are racking up some steep phone bills. Punish them by not allowing texting? They do like one of my siblings kids. IN THEIR POCKET!!!!!!!! They can text with one hand while not looking.

This will lead to the Doctor's up the road fixing carpal tunnel syndrome for all these kids. They are quick with the thumbs.
