I went out for a bike ride tonight. It's 23 degrees here..my teeth won't stop chattering! I FROZE..my hands are shaking!!!!

I got into cycling after the Tour de France this year (was laid up after surgery and couldn't get off the sofa) and riding my bike helped me through most of my withdrawal symptoms when I quit pain pills a few months ago.....
It's cold here tonight, too. I live in Louisiana and it's going to be in the 20's for us tonight.... We are all so excited because if it rains while this cold front is in, there is a chance that we could see some snow flurries (I have only seen snow twice in my life - both times as adults when visiting Minneapolis... it doesn't snow here)

Heck, I used to pedal 10+ miles a day..now it's a CHORE to do 7..and now the cold has set in.....I'm screwed...

I was just in Chicago about 3 weeks ago.... I've been about 4-5 times and it's one of my favorite cities...
It's funny... when I first got there, it was about 60 degrees... but as the week went by, it got colder. It was about 35-40 degrees. On the way back to the airport, I was talking to the Town Car driver about the weather and how I can't take the cold... He said, "It gets sooo cold here. It's miserable." And I said, "I know!! I was so cold earlier I couldn't talk!" He starts laughing and says, "THIS isn't cold. I'm not talking about this. You should see when it's 25 below zero..."
There I was, freezing my butt off, and he thought it was springtime!!
Of course, this is also the guy I turned to for advice.... I was there with my boyfriend and couldn't decide if I should fly back to Florida with him or come back home to my husband (that's what being on pills will make your mind like).... And I said, "Let's just ask the driver... What do you think?" and he said, "Go to Florida. I love Miami...."
Don't ever seek important, life-changing advice on a limo driver you've known for 20 minutes... LOL (PS - I didn't listen and came home)

Chicago is one of the coldest places i can remember, even worse then Buffalo, but it is the only place outside of Buffalo that has decent Pizza.

I know we all live where we live, but after moving down south about 5 years ago my yankee blood thinned right out & when it gets below 50 in FLorida it's cold. When I visit my kids in Buffalo in the winter, except for their company & the casinos, i can't stand it.

Danielle- Those guys are full of advice. If I listened to every one of them, I'd be in big trouble. I lived in Florida for 4 years. I loved it. But let me tell you, about 15 years ago, her in Chi town, it was -30 degress. And with the wind going on, it was windchill of around -60. It's because of the lake. And the year BEFORE, it was 60 degrees on Christmas..you just never know. Yesterday, it was 50 degrees here..today..didn't get past 30...btw, my car's engine that year totally failed..new cam shaft...
It is like 70 here....feels cold to me..lol..
