....of the despair and hopelessness of this disease when left untreated...I went to two back-to-back AA meetings today and that is really what I needed personally, however, I was saddened to find out a gal that I've known through AA for the past two years tried to take her life the other day and lays in ICU and her progosis is grim, but I really do not know any other details...she has an adolescent daughter...we've corresponded via email as of late, I was trying to help her find a job, and to be honest I knew she was extremely depressed, but never knew just how far it had gone....please keep JT in all of your prayers and her family as well.
Hi Geri,

Geri...
I'm sorry to hear about your friend...You are in my prayers and for me, as of late, seems like people are relapsing all around me...I was reminded to focus on my recovery and give them to God...This disease is insidious....
We can only offer our experience, strength and hope and it's up to others to put it into practice and do as suggested...Frustrating at times but at the end of the day, I remember it's a lesson that I too am only one drink away and that I keep my sobriety my #1 priority otherwise all those "yets" may occur....
As always, you are in my prayers...
Much love,
Stacey

Hi there...thank you. I really didn't know this gal outside of AA but the Program has become like family to me....we all share that common bond and when one of us falls, or dies, it is very sad and we on the Program will come in contact more with this insidious killing disease and its fatalities because we are in the trenches together.... I'm not sure of her status as of today...I didn't go out to rehab with my daughter so I popped on here tonight. Needed to read about some recovery.
Hi Geri,
Thank you for the reminder ....

Hope all is well with you and the girls. Things are good on my end.

Hey G.....sorry to hear about that gal in your meeting. C. is right....it is good to be reminded what this bulls*** disease can do if left to it's own devices.
How are you Avondale Girl (C.) Hope you are well!
Hey VW....how is Rachel doing? Hope you are both having a peaceful evening!

Still praying for JT & her family. Hoping she is doing better?
Hi there,
This gal came out of her coma, and it is miracle...it happened a few days ago, but heard she was angry when she came to, cause she didn't want to be here...the Doctors told her family she did not really stand a chance...and now she is expected to make a strong recovery, if not a full recovery physically, if she remains sober. Such good news.

What awesome news! VWgirl, I'm happy for you and your friend. Where there is life there is still hope. Now lets hope she can recover emotionally. Don't forget to take care of your self, you certainly put a lot of effort into looking after others. You have definately touched my life!
Bye for now... Cookster

Dear VWgirl, I'm so happy this woman survived especially for her child! Hopefully with a really good counselor & lot's of love & support she will want to live again. She will know the miracle she's been given. Cookster is right you are an ANGEL to so many people. Please do something special just for you. Maybe a nice massage,or whatever would help rejuvenate Geri. Thankyou, for the countless times youv'e given to others. Please know so many of your posts have helped me towards the next step in my recovery. God Bless, Chris
Awesome news! Another miracle, will pray for her.
