I find it hilarious that even non-soap watchers know about and remember marlana being possessed by the devil. Everyone always says that's when they quit watching. I guess they picked up new viewers?
I did see the demonic possession thing, but only because my mom and grandma bitched about it so much I had to tune in and see why. That must have been early-mid teens?
17 hours is still a long way, huh? It sucks doesn't it... ha! Yeah, it took us 2 days... and that was about 22-23 hours... we tried not to stop hardly at all. We held our pee( i know that sounds terrible) until we couldn't hold it anymore... it's hell getting back on the interstates with the traffic during the holidays.
Then, Shea programmed shortest time instead of shortest distance in the GPS on the way home and it took us right through the smoky mountains... at night... and you know how us Texans can't drive through curvy mountains... LMAO!!! So, it took us almost 2 hours just to get through them cuz we had to go about 35 mph and it was at night so we couldn't even see the scenery... uggh... hehe... but, Janet... i needed that trip back home so bad and it was so worth it. It was honestly the best Christmas i have ever had....

I stopped watching after Marlena got possessed also. It must have been popular for some, didn't they start another soap involving the occult after it?

I absolutely can't stand them. Daytime television is torture, except for the news. Even the talk shows.

I agree with Danny, I absolutely HATE daytime tv. I don't know how I sat on my a** all those years (oh yeah, I was high). BUT Give me a good night time soap like Knot's Landing and I am hooked. Ah, the good old days.

I watch more out of habit than anything....also...I have Soapnet!!! I can watch it in the evenings...10pm every night!! or all day Sunday I think they run the entire week!! More habit than anything..it is interesting to watch just because most of the people on there have been on there for years..neat to see how they have aged!

I didn't know that you could watch the Desperate HW's on soapnet! Thats good news...its one of those shows that I find amusing...but never seem to make a point to watch..I am gonna go look as to when I can catch up!! yipeee...see and some say this board is not usefull!! LOL

Dr. Phil and Oprah..(rolling eyes)...I've never seen that Maury guy but I did see Jerry Springer once and it was too weird..I told my daughter it had to be fake and she said it was..hopefully, she was right..kinda reminded me of professional wrestling. I really don't like a lot of what is on..it's usually the news, baseball or football or a movie for me..(I'm a total movie nut)..I do like some of the shows on the Food Channel and I like This Old House and Antiques Roadshow..and MADtv because of my b-i-l..I DO think the soap opera's on Telemundo are pretty funny..the only shows I really watch on a regular basis are House, Studio 60 and NBC on Thursday night..also Conan and sometimes Jay..and of course the 3 Stooges..yuk yuk yuk..

Jen from the friends and family board needs and intervention for her lust of soap operas.....I think it is general hospital and this nicolas somebody who is taking from our friendship.....Not only does she watch it when it is on if she can, see switches to the soap network to make sure she catches it in reruns, repeatedly.....I am talking same day, same episode.

never have i watched soaps except one time in the 70's when general hospital had the luke and laura thing going on and luke raped laura in the disco to that one song what was it?? i can hear the tune in my head. anyone care to share with me what the update was on luke and laura coming back???
i did get hooked on dynasty once. i cant stand shows where everyone looks perfect and their homes as well, thats why i like roseanne, that is reality, dust, messy house, no make up some days, i thrive on reality my son loves boston legal , denny crain, i hate it! too perfect looking homes and people. i want to see stretch marks, fat guts on women, lol!!!!! cellulite!!! i better post this before i say too much. julie. no reconstructed breasts!!!! i know i'm jealous. pamela lees boobs look like 2 round basketballs! come on guys, is that a good thing???

Jewls, you are right about peoples homes...what 25 year old do you know who is a waitress lives in a huge apartment in Manhattan..or the house where the kitchen is about 17 times the size of a normal kitchen..and there is always the spare room for the crusty old grandpa/nanny/butler/good for nothing brother....another thing I always thought was kinda funny was how these people leave their doors open or unlocked and friends and neighbors wander in and out..even though I love Seinfeld..Kramer popping in and out is pretty unbelievable..everyone locks their doors in the city..EVERYONE..
