This website is scary, and awesome for us parents.

Go to the above website and enter your home address.
It gives you a map with a house showing where you live. All the little colored boxes around your house are the homes of convicted sex offenders. You can click on the boxes and get a full rundown on them, including address, offense and a picture.

It's good to know who your neighbors are, huh? I showed the pictures of the ones in our community to my son. One of them I have seen around town but certainly didn't know about his criminal history.

Hey Carol... thanks for that link... we just got approved for a new home and we are looking at potential areas... this will come in handy. Isn't there somewhere on the internet that you can look up pics of sex offenders in your area as well? I am going to google it... if i find it i will let ya'll know... it's important for us to know these things. I am gonna order that safe video for kids from john walsh for the daycare... they have had two men on the news trying to get kids to look at their "puppies" in their cars... one at a school and the other at a park. Crazy and very scary. Love, Bri :)

Dayum, that was some wild stuff...I was shocked to see all the pervs that live near me....Looks like it is time to move...I did have my kids in here looking at all of the pictures too...

Pam... i couldn't find where to see their pictures... it just showed me a map and that was all... how do i see them? I am dumb when it comes to this stuff... when one of the parents gets here i am gonna ask him about that other site too... he is a parole officer for sex offenders and rapists... man talk about a scary job! Bri, just click on the little colored houses, then the pictures and addresses and all of the offenders information will come up for you...You may be real suprised to see who some of your neighbors are...

MJ, I tried to pull it up from my link above, and it didn't work for me either. LOL
Let me try something and I will get back to you.

Bri, After you click on the colored boxes, give it a minute and if the name and address of the offender comes up, his picture should be there, too. I had a little bit of a problem with it the first time I did it, but it did eventually come up.

Yikes...there are some sick MF's around here. Very scary. How do you mom's ever let your kids out of your sight. If I had kids, they would be locked in the house right now after seeing this...JK...A little.

Carol there is a similar site that I have gone to and come to find out two blocks from us, is a man whom I have seen in the grocery store many many times, is listed for ' adult sexual abuse'. He is very distinguishable, that is how I recognized him.

I had googled Sex Offender (state I live in) then the zip code, it brought up a web page with a whole list of people. I was needless to say surprised, guess I had never given it much thought, until a year ago my friend told me about it.

This type of information is good to know.

Yea, I live in a small town and there's a 30-something guy we see around all the time in his souped up Camaro.I always thought it strange that he lived with his parents. Now I know why. He's a sicko and likes kids. The next time I run into him think I'll tell him I saw his picture on the site. LOL
It is not funny, I know, and I don't take it lightly. It is hard living in this world today and worrying about these predators and what could happen to our kids. I have taught my son since his young years how to react to adults who might want to take him. Doesn't mean he would do it, or could do it, but it is something we've talked about in our home for years.

They are everywhere. Its so disheartening to think my son rides his bike past some sickos house everyday.

I swear, if anyone tried to do him harm like that, I'd kill him and no jury would convict me....the body would never be found.

Thanks for the link Carol, info we should all be aware of. These people don't change. If you get arrested for child molestation, you shouldn't get out...ever. They are all repeat offenders.

Thank for that link carol. I agree Amy these sick perverts don't change. You'd be shocked if you saw the length of time most of these people actually spent in jail for these crimes. Some of them just a year or two. I am surprised at how many preditors are allowed to live within minutes of a school zone.. Unbelievable. They should be forced to live in a sicko community in some back woods far far far away from the rest of the world. Oh don't even get me started. Times have changed that is for sure. At least now we know where they live and we can see their pictures. Back in the day this was covered up and not talked about much. Anyway you ladies have a good day. Rae

Excellent site!! I work for a rape crisis center as an advocate for the victims young and old. This map is extremely helpful and eye opening. If you search for the nearest rape crisis center to you, their home page should have a link to the listing of all registered sex offenders in your state. Some states are even combining information.
Also in our area, the police put huge bright yellow signs on the front door of registered sex offenders on Halloween, That map can come in really handy to know which houses to avoid on that holiday.

We had a small town actually put signs in their own yards pointing next door saying "sex offender lives here!" and they kept them up mostly year round!!
